28w ago - Sony Senior Marketing Specialist James Cullen officially introduced a better, faster PSN video streaming technology service today alongside a request for testers below.
To quote: We've incorporated a new technology that will greatly enhance your viewing experience by providing you a more adaptive, faster stream whenever you rent a movie from the PlayStation Store on PlayStation 3.
But, before we roll out with our entire catalog, we want to test the technology out and get your opinion. For a limited time, we're discounting some HD and SD movie titles. Check them out and let us know what you think.
Here's how to cash in on the deal and help us out along the way:
• Log on to the PlayStation Store on your PS3.
• Scroll down to the Movies section where you will immediately find our beta test in the first section.
• Rent one of the five movies for only $1.99 in HD or 99 cents in SD.
• Fill out the brief survey that will be emailed to you after you purchase and watch the movie.
Tell your friends to try it out too, and keep up-to-date by joining us on Twitter and Facebook.

123w ago - Capcom Community Senior Manager Seth Killian has announced today alongside a video that EVO 2011 starts tomorrow, which will also be streaming in PlayStation Home.
To quote: EVO is the World Series of Fighting Games, and it's this weekend, July 29th through the 31st, in Las Vegas.
EVO has been running for over a decade, and has grown from a small gathering of friends into the biggest fighting-game event on the planet, with thousands of competitors and fans attending from dozens of countries (46 countries are represented this year!).
The best of the best come not only to win prizes, but to claim a place in fighting game history, to earn a name, and to test themselves at the highest levels.
For fighting game fans like me, it is so exciting that my body literally starts tensing this far in advance because of what I know is to come. Wonder how little kids feel when they are on their way to Disneyland? For fighting game lovers, this is that feeling.
If you've always wondered why people still talk about arcades, EVO is as close as you'll come to seeing it for yourself. It's this big space, filled with people who are – at the same time – your friends and your enemies. You can feel the thrill, excitement, and anxiety of competition...
140w ago - Today it was announced that Sony's TV and movie video streaming service Crackle is heading to the PlayStation 3 console for free.
PS3 owners will find Crackle via the built-in Web browser, and the homepage will have a direct link available.
To quote from GamesRadar.com (linked above): Crackle, an ad-supported video streaming service that just so happens to be owned by Sony Pictures, announced a sweeping expansion today.
It's now available on numerous devices including Sony Blu-ray players and TVs, as well as Roku boxes and, of course, the PS3.
Crackle works like Hulu, but it has a stronger focus on movies, with hundreds of films available, as well as original programming.
Among the studios supporting Crackle are Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems, and Sony Pictures Classics. Incidentally, those are all Sony Pictures studios. The company says it adds 20 new titles per month.
