85w ago - PlayStation Network Director of Marketing Brandon Stander has shared an NHL PS3 GameCenter App guided video tour video today and announced that fans can stream live hockey games on the PS3 in HD!

To quote: The 2011-12 hockey season drops the puck on the ice, and the PS3, today!

That's right, the PS3 is still the only gaming console to stream live out-of-market hockey games in HD, and this season, in addition to enhanced streaming capabilities, users in the United States and Canada can now download the new NHL GameCenter application for free.

That means users who enjoy free access to PlayStation Network and do not have a subscription to NHL GameCenter LIVE can still have access to a wide range of NHL content through the NHL GameCenter application, including features such as post-game highlights, team schedules, standings, player stats and full NHL scoreboard.

Of course, if you are already an NHL GameCenter LIVE subscriber, you can also stream every 2011-12 regular season game in High Definition on the PS3 - local blackout restrictions do apply.

104w ago - Today PlayStation Home Community Manager Locust_Star has announced that Sony will be hosting a virtual booth and streaming E3 2011 live next week directly on the PS3 entertainment system via PlayStation Home.

To quote: With the E3 Expo just around the corner, the PlayStation Home team is happy to announce that you'll be able to be part of the convention excitement -- right from your PS3!

For the first time ever, PlayStation Home will host a live public video stream of the Sony E3 press conference on Monday, June 6 at 5pm Pacific Time in a special screening room. You can watch SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton reveal all of the big E3 announcements and watch never-before-seen footage of tons of upcoming PS3 and NGP titles.

To quote: Last week, we announced a partnership with VUDU that will bring you the ability to stream thousands of movies straight from the cloud to your PlayStation 3.

Today, that announcement becomes reality as the VUDU application launches in the United States on PlayStation Network.
