To quote: [Register or Login to view links] is going to be the biggest, most awesomest, most amazingest adventure yet! So we're proud to announce today that as a LittleBigPlanet first... our entire adventure will be fully voice acted!

Long-time fans will already be well-accustomed to Stephen Fry's dulcet tones as LittleBigPlanet's ever-warm and loving Narrator. But evil is afoot for our otherwise pleasant world and the nefarious Newton is here to cause all kinds of trouble and mischief in this brand new adventure!

But just who would be the dream voice to contest against Mr. Fry...?

Introducing Hugh Laurie as the voice of Newton!

That's right! The mischievous Newton is being voiced by none other than Stephen Fry's long-time comedic partner... Hugh Laurie!

We have naturally always been big fans of Stephen Fry, so when it came to deciding upon a voice to act as his dastardly counterpart, we couldn't help but think that bringing Hugh Laurie on as the voice of Newton...

Video: Step Up to the Plate: MLB '13 The Show Hitting Enhancements

50°
98w ago - Sony Community Manager Ramone Russell at San Diego Studios has shared a video today spotlighting the hitting enhancements in MLB '13 The Show for PS3 today.

To quote: Hitting is such an important aspect in baseball, and it's an area we continually strive to make as realistic as possible. Last year we introduced our True Ball Physics engine to the franchise for ultra-realistic ball physics.

This year we've done even more work to really make this area of the game as dynamic as possible with true to life outcomes. Take a look at what we've done to make hitting in MLB '13 The Show more accessible to everyone.

We really want to make hitting more streamlined for players. Beginner mode allows people who have never played The Show - or have struggled with it - to learn the fundamentals of hitting. It's meant to teach you the basics of Plate Discipline, Pitch Recognition and Timing.

This mode uses adaptive A.I. that only advances as you do. If you take longer to get the hang of hitting in The Show, you won't be forced to advance. The A.I. will only advance once you've passed a certain threshold at each level.

Hitman: HD Trilogy Steps Out of the Shadows and Onto PS3

50°
98w ago - IO Interactive Studio Communications Manager Nick Price has announced today that Hitman: HD Trilogy is stepping out of the shadows and onto PS3!

To quote: The release of Hitman: HD Trilogy today on PS3 and PlayStation Network brings Hitman: Blood Money onto the PlayStation format for the first time. With it come two additional classic Hitman games - Silent Assassin and Contracts.

More than anything else [Register or Login to view links] has created in the past decade and a half, Hitman has been the defining series for the studio. Five titles in the franchise have been released in the last 12 years, across most AAA platforms available within the same time period.

The combination of the assassin fantasy, game mechanics and freedom of choice makes the Hitman series the most original set of games we have made at IO. Nobody had ever really seen a game like Hitman before – not even the developers who were about to create it.

It was a game about a stone-cold killer, but with tongue-in-cheek humor to balance the very mature themes in the game. As Tore Blystad, Game Director on Hitman: Absolution, says: "When dealing with such a dark topic ... you need something in there to compensate, to make it less cynical.

In the start of Absolution development we tried...

ThatGameCompany: Journey Takes Its First Steps on PSN in March

50°
148w ago - Creative Director Jenova Chen at ThatGameCompany has announced today that Journey will be taking its first steps on PSN this coming March.

To quote: As you may know from my recent tweet, the development of our latest PlayStation Network game, Journey, is finally complete. And today, we're very excited to announce the official release date for Journey.

You will be able to download it from the PlayStation Store for $14.99 starting March 13th, 2012. Three years ago, our last game, Flower, was part of the Spring Fever event on PSN, and this year Journey will kick off this year's Spring Fever.

Look for more information on the highlight games and sales of this year's Spring Fever event on the PlayStation.Blog in the coming weeks.

With each game we create, we want to bring something truly unique and authentic to the user. We want our players to experience something they have never felt before. Our first game for PSN was flOw in 2007, a meditative zen video game haiku.

We followed that in 2009 with Flower, our video game version of a poem about the tension between urban bustle and natural serenity. Journey, our third game, is an interactive parable, an anonymous online adventure to experience a person's life passage and their intersections with other's.
