Andy Kelly recently reviewed the PlayStation 3 version of Fallout 3 for PSM3. The review has been leaked onto the Web and there has been concern as Andy's review stated that the graphics in the PS3 version compare poorly to its XBox and PC counterparts.

To quote: Our exclusive Fallout 3 PS3 review (from PSM3#107) has leaked onto the Internet and, as expected, a single sentence has been dragged out, beaten and interrogated under a spotlight.

This one; "The PS3 version compares poorly to its Xbox and PC counterparts." Which, in the parlance of the Internet, obviously means; "THE PS3 VERSION SUCKS! XBOX WINS! ANOTHER CRAPPY PORT!" But that isn't the case. The PS3 version just looks SLIGHTLY WORSE than the other versions.

The PC version of Fallout 3 is gorgeous. The colours are vivid, the draw distance is endless, the textures are high-res and the lighting effects are beautifully subtle, especially when you're gazing over the Capital Wastelan... More »

IGN has posted footage of the entire opening level of The Conduit, a generous fifteen minutes of action in which hero Mr. Ford takes down enemy marines, shoots up bipedal "Drudge" warriors, and charges down corridors.

Then some more corridors. And then even more corridors. Seriously: there's a lot of corridors in this. A lot of conduits, even.

Videos courtesy of IGN can be viewed below.. Enjoy!

If you want to buy Resistance 2 and enter the experience fresh, then avert your eyes and ears and move onto something else. If not, GameTrailers has posted an off-screen video of the opening cinematic for Resistance 2.

The cinematic begins where the first Resistance title left off, showing Nathan Hale being taken hostage by an unknown group of soldiers.

Hale proceeds to be shot with sedatives, after which he's told that he's being taken to Iceland where he will undergo tests before being shipped to the mainland.

Again, for those not wishing to spoil the opening moments of the game, turn away now. For the rest of you, check out the video below.

As if the control mechanic revelations weren't enough, Quantic Dream has confirmed Heavy Rain's episodic structure would be ideal for DLC, but it's too early for them to gauge opportunities just yet.

"There's so many possibilities with this thing, because what matters now is just the story you want to tell," producer David Cage stated. "Do you have a good story to tell? Then you can do it, because this thing isn't specific to the series. You can tell any story with this interface, because it's entirely contextual."

Cage also confirmed that a demo would be made available to PS3 owners before launch, likely to be set in a separate scenario to the main storyline.

"I wouldn't want to spoil the story," he continued. "We've spent a lot of time working on the story this time; we've worked with people from Hollywood, script writers, to really make it just right. And I think it's a very unusual story for a videogame, so I think people will be quite ... More »

A new computer game tipped to be the most violent ever is being released exclusively on the so-called 'family friendly' Wii console.

Nintendo will dramatically transform Wii's image with the release of ultra violent video game MadWorld which "revolves around the themes of brutality and exhilaration", according to its creators.

Players in the 'hack and slash' game, which is due for a UK release in early 2009, can impale enemies on road signs, rip out hearts and execute them with weapons including chainsaws and daggers.

The decision to release a violent game on a console which has based its reputation on family fun has shocked anti-violence pressure groups.

The game has not yet been given an age rating. Mediawatch-UK, Britains longest running pressure group campaigning for decency in TV, films and games, said MadWorld will 'spoil' the Wii.

John Beyer, director of Mediawatch-uk, said: This game sounds very unsavoury. ... More »

Update: The Official Web site of Digital Extremes, better known as the developer who brought us Dark Sector but who are also helping in the BioShock port, displays the very same box art. This must at least be confirmation that Home will be out before BioShock releases in October.

On Monday, SpikeTV are set to reveal BioShock PS3 goodness, making us unconventionally excited about what most would call a “port.” But hey, one of last year’s most critically acclaimed games is meeting an entirely new audience. A glance at the box art reveals another reason for PS3 owners to get excited.

On his very own blog, Geoff Keighly hints at what will be in store for BioShock fans this Monday;

Another game set to debut on the show is BioShock PLAYSTATION 3. Now I know what you’re thinking...’why are you guys making a big deal out of a port?’ Well I can’t spoil the surprise just yet, but let me... More »

Ryan Payton, assistant producer at Kojima Productions, has said that they asked reviewers to avoid the following MGS4 topics, mainly because they may spoil the experience for some players: Install times, Length of cutscenes (the ending in particular), Number of environments, Opening "movie", Product placement, Plus a half dozen story-specific items.

Speaking of cut-scenes Payton says the game requires an eight minute install, as well as a number of two to three-minute installs between acts.

Tp quote: Believe it or not, I've been so busy working on a special surprise for MGS4 buyers (that not even those who have leaked copies of the game can spoil! Haha!), that I haven't had time to catch up on most of the pre-launch excitement.

Scanning the net today, I came across that 90-minute cutscene rumor, and a red-faced Adam Sessler, who was obviously very upset about the restrictions placed on MGS4 reviews.

Adam asks at the end of his... More »
