Soul Calibur and Tekken set to Receive PlayStation Home Lounges

296w ago - According to Famitsu (linked above), PlayStation 3 titles Soul Calibur and Tekken are set to receive their very own lounges in the Japanese build of Home.

They don't specify an exact date, although they do indicate Namco Bandai are also planning to sell clothing and furniture in their space.

To quote, roughly translated: Open on December 11th was the start of the test of the online service PlayStation 3 "PlayStation Home". The PlayStation 3's new "playground" in 2008 in December and from 18 vendors to participate in the collaborative content.

With the popularity of digital downloads, however, the prospect of adding even more beloved characters is entirely possible. Here's 12 famous gaming, movie, and comic book characters that would fit the fighting franchise perfectly.

12- Marcus Fenix: Why not bring a gun to a sword fight? Our pitch--in the midst of a massive battle against the Locust, Marcus Fenix runs out of bullets and calls for the Hammer of Dawn at the same time as the tremendously incompetent Damon Baird. When the streams cross, it creates a vortex that leads to 16th Century. Without any ammo, Marcus is forced to rev up his Chainsaw Bayonet and slice up his opponents in order to find a weapon that can kill the Queen for good.

11- Toxie: No one-on-one fighting game is complete without at least one ridiculous character you can play as. Tekken has had everything from panda bears to kangaroos. Why not make things even weirder by throwing the mop-weilding Toxic Crusader into the mix? R2-D2 Added in Soul Calibur IV

317w ago - A Japanese magazine scan has revealed that R2-D2 from Starwars will be a playable character in the upcoming Soul Calibur IV.

It is unclear from the scan whether R2-D2 will be a system specific character like Darth Vader and Yoda.

Soul Calibur IV Install Size Confirmed at 2.85GB and 2MB Save

319w ago - We now have confirmation available which debunks previous reports of a near-7GB install for Soul Calibur IV.

Courtesy of bi0sparkz from GameTrailers (linked above), the magazine scan below now confirms that the Soul Calibur IV install size is 2.85GB and a 2MB save on PS3.

While those with larger PS3 hard disk drives remain unconcerned, it is definitely comforting news for Soul Calibur IV fans who still own smaller PS3 HDDs.
