50°
3w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new PlayStation and PSN games for the upcoming week today, as follows:

Talion, skilled swordsman and Ranger of the Black Gate, dies upon the rainy walls of his charge, moments after the cruel murder of his wife and child.

But Talion is banished from death, and brought back to life by an ancient wraith with a thirst for vengeance. So begins the open-world adventure in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

Shadow of Mordor, which launches this Tuesday on PS4, opens up the rocky passes and shattered ruins that house Sauron's massing armies.

Guide Talion on his quest to find the forces that killed his family, and build his arsenal of powerful runes and wraith magic. Gain insight into the history of Middle-earth, and see a few familiar faces along the way.

But that's not the only adventure coming to PlayStation this week. Solve deadly mysteries in Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, or fight over-the-top battles in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.

Sony Reveals Ar nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star Out Today on PS3

50°
4w ago - Sony Director Akira Tsuchiya revealed that Ar nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star is officially out today on PS3 with details and a PlayStation 3 video trailer below.

To quote: Ar nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star launches today on PS3, and some of you may be asking: "what exactly is a '7 dimensional' RPG?"

While we believe that you can only truly understand Ar nosurge by embarking on the journey yourself, as the director of the game I hope to be able to provide some insight into the unique world and emotions that you will experience.

Ar nosurge is categorized as an RPG, but that's not entirely true. Ar nosurge goes beyond the 7 dimensions of space and time, and connects to a world that exists in the far reaches - Ar nosurge is a network operating system existing in a parallel universe.

You might be thinking: "Sure, that's just the setting of the game." But in fact, people who understand Ar nosurge on that basis alone will be in for quite a surprise halfway through the storyline.

Up until that point the story carefully and accurately depicts "a world that exists beyond the 7 dimensions." While you the player exist in this world, I believe you'll also feel that you are essential in controlling...

Sony on How Battlefield Hardline PS4 Takes Cues from Hollywood

50°
6w ago - Sony Content Producer Tom Wallis shared details today on how Battlefield Hardline on PS4 and PS3 takes cues from Hollywood below.

To quote: Battlefield Hardline made a big splash when it was announced in July this year - with a wealth of multiplayer modes teased and a beta test that saw hundreds of thousands of gamers get an early taste of the action.

However, developer Visceral Games (Dead Space, Dante's Inferno) has been rather more quiet about what you can expect from the single-player campaign. So, PlayStation.Blog sat down with Senior Producer Steve Anthony, who's helping to bring the single-player portion of the game to PlayStation in early 2015.

"At Visceral we're very proud of our lineage when it comes to single-player stories," explains Anthony. "What we've done for Battlefield Hardline is to take influence from popular television crime dramas and built a campaign that will unfold in episodic format. That means each episode of the campaign will have character development, intense moments, and cliff hanging endings."

Create a game that plays out like your favorite cop drama? An intriguing prospect, but exactly how are they looking to accomplish this lofty ambition?

"In order to do that we've brought on some key talent from Hollywood," he continues. "So...
