Those of you who want to throw your hat into the ring of PlayStation Mobile development now have the perfect opportunity to place your game alongside popular titles like Haunt the House: Terrortown and Beats Slider.

8w ago - Sony Director of Emerging Platforms Chris Mahoney has detailed the PlayStation Mobile GDC 2013 games round up below today.

To quote: PlayStation Mobile had quite a presence at yesterday's Indie Arcade event at GDC. On top of all the awesome games out on the floor available to play, we announced the winner of our NYC GameJam, which took place last month at IndieCade East.

The four semi-finalist games-Crystallon, Hermit Crab in Space, Crumble, and Don't Wake the Bear-were all showcased at the event and Hermit Crab in Space, developed by Golden Ruby Games, was crowned as the first PSM GameJam winner.

Hermit Crab in Space will be featured in the PlayStation booth at E3 June 11th through 13th. Let's give a big shout out to all the semi-finalists and huge congratulations to Golden Ruby Games on their big win. These are incredible games developed by extraordinary talent and we look forward to seeing more at future GameJams.

To quote: As with many games industry developers of a certain age I grew up with the classics: Atari 2600, Commodore 64 etc. with my very first gaming experience being on a Binatone with Pong.

One game that was always a favourite of mine was Dodge-em from the Atari 2600 which I would play for hours and hours. It was so frustrating at times, especially when it got quick, but that made me really want to beat it even more.

Back in 2011 we'd just finished development of Bang Bang Racing and while thinking what we should do next, I thought about creating a 3D title that paid homage to Dodge-em.

So we started work and soon came to the conclusion that it was going to take way too long and be too difficult to make it enjoyable in full 3D, so we simply just got rid of the turns and made it straight instead.

We ended up with Switch, a mobile game that has gone on to be downloaded 1.7m times so far, which was so awesome considering it was a very simple endless runner that took six weeks to make. Even though it was simple, people loved it...

Below are the details, as follows: Monkeys are fun. They jump around, swing on vines, love high places, and occasionally fling poo at people that they don't like.

Today we are pleased to announced that you can have just as much fun as monkeys do (minus the poo) with the release of Yippie! Entertainment's Chimpact on PlayStation Mobile.

In Chimpact, you play as a little monkey who has to bounce around and collect items through a variety of levels to make it home safely. The game is absolutely gorgeous and the gameplay is simple, yet challenging. Chimpact is a new age platformer that has gameplay reminiscent of similar games from the 16-bit era.

The game features:

• Simple, one-touch gameplay
• Amazing visuals and character design
• 48 fun-filled levels to complete
