34w ago - Sony Network Entertainment Director of Music Services Anu Kirk announced today that Music Unlimited is getting amplified on the upcoming PS4 / PlayStation 4 console.

To quote: During E3, we mentioned that the Music Unlimited service would be available for PlayStation 4 at launch and today during Gamescom we revealed some great features we think you'll love.

The new Music Unlimited streaming service features a completely redesigned user interface that was specifically enhanced for PS4. It is faster, simple to use, and enables gamers to easily discover new artists and songs from the Music Unlimited global library of over 22 million songs.

Additionally, we added new features that many PlayStation gamers have requested. You will now be able to listen to music in the background while playing games and access Music Unlimited controls on the fly without completely exiting game play or other apps.

Simply press and hold the "PS" button on the DUALSHOCK 4 to access a pop up menu that will enable you to quickly pause or skip tracks, and adjust the volume.

Look for the Music Unlimited app when PS4 launches on November 15. Meanwhile, if you aren't a subscriber, don't miss the special Premium annual subscription offer available today for PlayStation Plus members and others....

Sony on Integrating the Music Unlimited Service with Bravia TVs

50°
83w ago - Sony's Greg Belloni has announced today news regarding the integration of their Music Unlimited service with Bravia TVs.

Below are the details, to quote: If you own one of Sony's 2012 BRAVIA TVs, you'll be able to quickly and easily answer the following question: "Who sings that song?"

2012 Bravia TVs will feature Sony TrackID, allowing viewers to, with a push of a button, identify any song that's being played during a TV program they're watching.

By using Gracenote's advanced audio fingerprinting, Sony TrackID will show the song name and artist information for music played during TV shows, movies and even commercials.

Even better? After identifying the song that's being played, viewers will see direct links to the songs and/or artists on the Music Unlimited service, where listeners can listen to the whole song or more from that band or artist.

This is just one of the ways we're continuing to bring the Music Unlimited service to subscribers across a host of connected devices. Find out more here.
