5w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment's Andrew House officially unveiled their new Internet / Web cloud-based TV service called PlayStation Vue today proclaiming "Everyday TV is about to become extraordinary with our new cloud-based TV service."

Below is the official Press Release, as follows: Sony Network Entertainment International LLC (SNEI) and Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) today unveiled PlayStation Vue, a pioneering new cloud-based TV service that reinvents the television experience.

PlayStation Now Streaming Game Service Coming This Summer

49w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman announced that PlayStation Now, a streaming game service, is coming this summer to PlayStation fans.

To quote: Today, at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, we announced that [Register or Login to view links] (PS Now), our new streaming game service, will be available in the US this summer. With PlayStation Now, you will be able to stream popular hits and classic games from the PS3 library, first on PS4 and PS3 systems, followed by PS Vita.

In addition to PlayStation platforms, most 2014 US models of Sony's BRAVIA TV lineup will support PS Now. Eventually the service will expand beyond PlayStation platforms and Sony devices, allowing you to stream PlayStation games across a broad range of Internet-connected devices.

Leveraging Gaikai's advanced cloud-based technology, PlayStation Now will allow you to:

• Play video games instantly across multiple devices, similar to the way you might stream TV, movies, and music.

PlayStation 4 / PS4 in Factory Service Mode (FSM) Rumors Surface

54w ago - Following up on the recent PS4 Jailbreak rumors that appear to have been debunked as fake, today a picture of a purported PlayStation 4 in Factory Service Mode surfaced on IRC with the hope that PS4 FSM will lead to useful developments such as the PS3 FactoryServiceMode Tool did for the PlayStation 3 scene.

We will post more details on the PS4 Factory / Service Mode picture as they surface, and below are some PlayStation 4 Safe Mode (Recovery Menu) details for those who weren't aware how to access it as well.

Starting the PS4 in Safe Mode

  • Turn off the PlayStation 4 by pressing the power button on the front panel. The power indicator will blink for a few moments before turning off.
  • Once the PlayStation 4 is off, press and hold the power button. Release it after you've heard two beeps: one when you initially press, and another 7 seconds later.
  • Connect the DualShock 4 controller with the provided USB cable and press the PS button on the controller.
