20w ago - Today Sony has released some new PS4 (GUI) screenshots of the PlayStation 4's user interface, which include user profiles, the new PlayStation Store, inbox messaging and video sharing.
Below are the details from DigitalSpy.com (linked above), to quote: "The FCC's consumer arm revealed several technical details about the system during its extensive testing, confirming a maximum clock efficiency of 2.75GHz.
The images were issued to coincide with the announcement that the console has passed FCC certification in the US.
It was also revealed that the PS4 will weigh in at 2.8kg - making it considerably lighter than the original PS3 at 5kg, but heavier than the latest 2.1kg slimline models.
Sony's new console will run at a cooler temperature than its predecessor, making it less likely to overheat. The hardware's ideal operating temperature is between 5 and 35 degrees Celsius, compared to the PS3's average of between 45 and 55.
The PS4 will launch this holiday for $399 in North America and £349 in the UK. The console will launch alongside titles including Killzone: Shadow Fall, Drive Club and Knack."
61w ago - Square Enix Community Manager Benjamin Bateman has posted up the first PS3 screenshots today for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system!
To quote: Today we come bearing gifts! For all our RPG-loving fans we're excited to bring you the world's first screenshots of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn on the PS3 (Chocobos included)!
In our first PlayStation 3 reveal we wanted to give you a guided tour around the UI and menus. With a wealth of different options and commands at your fingertips at any one time it was important for us to create an elegant UI that is easy to read and navigate.
Taking inspiration from previous games the look and feel of the new FINAL FANTASY will be instantly familiar to long-time fans of the series.
In FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn we've put an extra emphasis on customisation. Knowing that everyone has their own personal tastes, not to mention the need to have a load-out that's compliments the character and role you're playing in-game, all of the UI elements that you see in the screenshots can be enabled, disabled, and repositioned to suit your preferences. Menus are also simple to navigate with the command you're looking for being only a few button presses away.

London office, he put his fingers in his ears and turned the stereo up. It confirmed something I'd been thinking on the train home: this is one of those games that we're better off not knowing much about.
There's five of us in the private screening room and Dax Ginn, marketing game manager at Rocksteady, has just played through an early mission from Arkham City, lasting around 30 minutes, which I'm not going to spoil for you. We are free to call out questions afterwards and one journalist asks, "Will we see anything like the Scarecrow missions from Arkham Asylum?"
"Did you like the scarecrow stuff?" he replies to slow nods. "Well we did too. Aren't you glad that you didn't know about the Scarecrow levels before you played Arkham Asylum? If they had been part of the marketing campaign they wouldn't have had that kind of impact, so I'm just going to leave it there."
The biggest difference between Arkham City and its predecessor is the move to a more open setting. In the intervening 18 months, Quincy...
