AceKardTeam has shared via YouTube a video of their flash cart working on the Nintendo DSi in a LAB environment. However, they admit that even though they can get it running, it is almost impossible to make a commercial product out of it.

To quote: This is a lab work, it works ONLY in LAB. Even though we can go this far, it is almost impossible to make a commercial product.

There is a major problem that can't be resolved, at least for now. It seems DSi did many sanity checks to make sure there is no more fcards.. we will keep researching and good luck to all.

BTW: We assume there are more than one modes on DSi, we still haven't found any way to access the SD card slot in origin DS mode.

Rumor has it that Windows 7 will drop in the middle of next year, but last month Microsoft released a "preview" tester build of Windows 7. After living in the Windows 7 Preview for a week now, several features and niceties jumped out at me which promise to make Windows a better place to work come 2009.

Here are just a few of the things to look forward to in Windows 7.

10. Ding-dong, the Sidebar is dead.

One of the first things I hunted down and killed in Windows Vista was the Sidebar, which loaded by default and docked Vista's Gadgets to the right side of your desktop. In Windows 7, the sidebar is no more, and gadgets, should you want them, can roam free across the desktop. This time around, the gadgets feel less distracting to me—the CPU meter and calendar gadgets are my favourites, though this screenshot shows many more.

9. Calculator, WordPad, and Paint got overhauled.

It sucks that Windows 7 is stripping the built-... More »

On Friday, Microsoft gave computer makers a six-month extension for offering Windows XP on newly-shipped PCs. While this doesn’t impact enterprise IT — because volume licensing agreements will allow IT to keep installing Windows XP for many years to come — the move is another symbolic nail in Vista’s coffin.

The public reputation of Windows Vista is in shambles, as Microsoft itself tacitly acknowledged in its Mojave ad campaign.

IT departments are largely ignoring Vista. In June (18 months after Vista’s launch), Forrester Research reported that just 8.8% of enterprise PCs worldwide were running Vista. Meanwhile, Microsoft appears to have put Windows 7 on an accelerated schedule that could see it released in 2010. That will provide IT departments with all the justification they need to simply skip Vista and wait to eventually standardize on Windows 7 as the next OS for business.

So how did Vista... More »

10. Tales of Vesperia
If anybody had told me I’d see a Tales game on the 360 at launch I would’ve laughed heartily before returning to my PS2 and GameCube. But how times have changed and what an unexpectedly strong JRPG library the 3... More »

I played through Too Human, Silicon Knights' upcoming action RPG for Xbox 360, this weekend. The game has been the subject of heated controversy: A disappointing early version shown at E3 built up an army of vocal detractors, and Silicon Knights' outspoken President Denis Dyack has fired back some volleys of his own.

The near-final version that I played won't do much to settle the issue one way or the other: Too Human has a lot of redeeming qualities, but it isn't for everyone.

I'm caught in the middle -- I enjoy Silicon Knights' storytelling, but although some well-done narrative is certainly part of Too Human's overall package, that's not the focus. The role-playing gameplay is the star here, and it took a little while to grow on me. There were some frustrating moments as I learned the ins and outs of how to control and manage the growth of the main character, Baldur.

But just as I came to grips with the gameplay, and just as the story ... More »

Ninja Gaiden 2 is the first game all over again, only faster and with a fancy new combat feature where you can hack off enemy limbs and execute elaborate finishing moves that differ from weapon to weapon.

It’s every bit as hard as its predecessor and then some with two unlockable difficulty levels in addition to the two defaults. The only problem is that Ninja Gaiden 2 looks just like Ninja Gaiden Sigma on the PS3 with barely any improvement in graphics and no Rachel segments to switch things up.

The gameplay is still ridiculously hard, take it or leave it (and most of us will leave it) and Ryu Hayabusa is still the baddest of badass ninjas out there. But something about Ninja Gaiden 2 just feels stale; and combined with some technical flaws, the game doesn’t really feel fun, even after you’ve mastered the combat system and resigned yourself to losing boss fights over and over again.

Like Xbox’s Ninja Gaiden (and its upgraded forms, Blac... More »

Mobile phone use does not raise the risk of brain tumours, a Japanese study suggests.

The research is the first to look at the effects of hand set radiation levels on different parts of the brain.

Tokyo Women's Medical University found no increased risk of the three main types of brain cancer among regular mobile phone users.

The study, comparing 322 brain cancer patients and 683 healthy people, appears in British Journal of Cancer.

The cancer patients had one of the three most common types of brain tumour - glioma, meningioma or pituitary adenoma.

The researchers rated each subject according to how many years they had been using a mobile phone, and how long they spent talking on it each day.

They studied the radiation emitted from various types of mobile phone, and placed them into one of four categories relating to radiation strength.

And they also analysed how each phone was likely to af... More »
