Video: The Seven Deadly Weapons of Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell

9w ago - Volition Associate Producer Kate Nelson posted up a video today showcasing the seven deadly weapons of Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell for PS4 and PS3 below.

To quote: Deep Silver and Volition recently announced a stand-alone expansion to Saints Row IV called Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell. Today, we're going to delve into a special set of over-the-top weapons this expansion has to offer!

Along with nine new weapons from Satan's arsenal and four weapons brought back from Saints Row IV, players will be able to seek out a unique set of Seven Deadly Weapons - each the embodiment of one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Envy, Pride, Greed, Lust, Sloth, Wrath, and Gluttony.

It was a happy accident for us that the weapon inventory wheel in Saints Row games has seven slots so we decided to pair one sin per slot: Melee, Pistol, SMG, Shotgun, Rifle, Explosive, and Special.

This means players may have all Seven Deadly Weapons in their load-out at a time! Collecting each weapon will not be easy, as each one has a unique and fun way of being obtained. Here is how it breaks down:

Our melee slot weapon, Uriels Edge, is the Envy of Hell. This enormous fiery sword has a slash attack to cut down nearby targets and also...

16w ago - Volition Associate Producer Kate Nelson announced today alongside a video trailer that Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell hits PS4 and PS3 on January 27, 2015 with details below.

To quote: Eight years ago today, Volition introduced the world to Johnny Gat: the badass lieutenant of the 3rd Street Saints with a knack for bloodshed.

Over the years, he waged war against the Vice Kings in Saints Row, took brutal revenge for his lost love against The Ronin in Saints Row 2, selflessly sacrificed himself to save his friends in Saints Row: The Third, and triumphantly returned to eviscerate the Zin Empire in Saints Row IV.

Today, on this anniversary, we at Volition are thrilled to announce a new standalone expansion for Saints Row IV in which Johnny Gat must face the only opponent worthy of his extreme reputation: Satan himself.

Fans have been wondering: where we can possibly go after the Saints have conquered the known Universe? Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell is our answer. Johnny Gat and Kinzie Kensington embark on a quest to save The President/God Emperor of the Universe from Hell's infernal city of New Hades.

After teaming up with former enemy Dane Vogel, they learn The Boss is going to be forced to...

TVG: Saints Row 2 Q&A Feature

50°
349w ago - The first open-world title to make it onto store shelves back when the 'current-gen' was still the 'next-gen', Volition Inc.'s Saints Row was a brave step in confronting the juggernaut that is Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Even though GTA IV was still two years away when gamers first started their journey in Stilwater City, the story of the Third Street Saints remained very much in Rockstar's shadow.

A planned PS3 version was later canned to allow the THQ studio to focus on the inevitable follow up, which is now just small number of months away from release.

So as gamers prepare to return to Stilwater, a few months after the imminent return to Liberty City, TVG took time out at THQ's Gamers Day 2008 to speak to Saints Row 2 producer, Greg Donovan...

TVG: What were some of the key weaknesses identified from the original Saints Row, and how have they been rectified for this year's follow up?

We can look at the various improvements on both a micro and macro level. One of the first that jumps out of me right away is the addition of mission checkpoints. Certainly, the introduction of 'cruise control' makes drive-bys a lot easier to handle - those are the two examples of micro level improvements.

Macro scale [improvements] would be technological;...
