6h ago - Gaijin Games Associate Producer Dant Rambo posted up a video today announcing that Bit Trip's Runner2 is coming to PS Vita on December 17th, 2013.
To quote: Greetings, current and future best friends. For those of you unfamiliar with our humble studio, we're the folks behind the Bit.Trip series, as well as the recently released Bit.Trip Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien.
We also invented the cheese-flavored cough drop, but due to a pending lawsuit, aren't permitted to speak of that.
Since releasing Runner2 for console and PC, we've had countless people ask us about a potential Vita version. This was, as you can surely imagine, very flattering. We were stoked that people enjoyed the game as much as they did, and even more stoked that they wanted to see it on additional platforms (I promise not to use "stoked" again in this post).
This inspired us to give it our all with the Vita version, and to make it just as good as its console counterparts. As it turns out, this wasn't such a difficult task. As any Vita owner can confirm, it's an incredibly powerful platform.
Whether this will be your first time playing the game or you're a seasoned vet, rest assured that no expense...
21w ago - Gaijin Games Associate Producer Dant Rambo shared a Runner2 PSN video today dubbed Who Says You Can't Buy Friends with details below, as follows:
After the launch of Bit.Trip Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, many of our fans asked us if we had any sort of plans for DLC. As you can imagine, we were thrilled to see that people wanted the game's experience to extend beyond when the final credits rolled. Quite honestly, it's one of the best compliments a developer can receive.
While brainstorming possible ideas for extra content, we came up with the idea of releasing a pack of characters plucked from other video games. It was a neat enough concept, but the success of it depended upon the awesomeness of the characters we ended up including in the bundle.
This required a lot of brainstorming on our end – including some crazy ideas we had that didn't quite work out – but in the end we feel as though we assembled the most amazing crew of characters to ever grace a single video game. We might be biased in our saying so, however.
In any case, the DLC in question is known as the Good Friends Character Pack, and it introduces Raz (Psychonauts), Quote (Cave Story), Josef (Machinarium), Dr. Fetus (Super Meat Boy), Spelunky Guy (Spelunky), and Invisible CommanderVideo...

To quote: Adapting a console game for a mobile platform is no walk in the Welcome Park. The reasons for this are numerous, but it ultimately boils down to an issue of faithfulness.
We can't speak for other developers - though we imagine they would agree - but we wanted our game, BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, to feel the same on the Vita as it does on the rest of its platforms.
Furthermore, we wanted to provide players everywhere with the chance to carry Unkle Dill around wherever they go. Though we've not yet finished our development of the Vita version, we're confident we've succeeded on both fronts.
For those unaware, Runner2 is a 2D platformer featuring vibrant worlds, unique characters, challenging (and rewarding!) gameplay, and the vocal stylings of Charles Martinet.
From the early planning stages to the finished product, our goal was to create a game that made people happy. If it just so happens that you're someone who likes to be happy, chances are good you'll enjoy it immensely.
41w ago - Gaijin Games Co-Founder Mike Roush has shared a video today showcasing the Bit Trip presentation of Runner2: CommanderVideo's PlayStation debut below!
To quote: Being a small developer like Gaijin Games can sometimes force us to take things a bit more slowly, and this is why we are both apologizing for taking so long to start making games for PlayStation 3, and why we're hoping you'll welcome us with big ol' greasy hugs when we get there. You see, we have something very special with Runner2, and we're incredibly excited to share it with you on PSN on March 5th.
Also, if you're brave and keep reading, you might find a little nugget of gold at the end of this blog post...
The Magic of Runner2
While working on the original BIT.TRIP series, we knew we had something special, and we loved making those six games. But it wasn't until all was said and done and we had time to reflect on the mess we'd made when we realized that BIT.TRIP RUNNER was one of the funnest projects we'd ever worked on, and as we contemplated our next steps, we looked at each other and thought, "You know, I bet we could murder peoples' fun-glands with a sequel to this beaut."
