6w ago - Following up on his previous PS4 hacking update, today PlayStation 4 hacker SKFU posted on his blog that DriveClub may brick your PS4 Blu-ray drive with details on the rumor below.

To quote: DRIVECLUB may brick your PS4 Blu-Ray Drive?!

Driveclub is currently facing a lot of problems including a few delays, server-side problems and more. Today a friend from Hong Kong told me about a major bug which he faced due the release day of Driveclub.

Since he is PS+ subscriber, he has access to the free PS+ version of Driveclub. He added it to his download list, waiting for the next time he'd be online.

Meanwhile he also purchased the disc version of Driveclub. Full of "GREATNESS AWAITS" thoughts, he turned on his PS4 and went online.

As the Driveclub PS+ version was already in his download list, it began to download. While the game was downloading, he wanted to use his disc version and pushed it inside the PlayStation 4's Blu-Ray drive.

It seems that no one actually ever tested if a user would do that. The disc drive of my friend stopped working right away. Ejecting and inserting works fine, but the PS4 won't read any...

300°
16w ago - With PS4 releases continuing to eat up PlayStation 4 hard drive space, today according to reports Sony is preparing a new PS4 SKU featuring 1TB of storage slated to arrive this Fall.

Below are the details, to quote: "A leaked PlayStation 4 model number suggests that Sony is gearing up to release a new PlayStation 4 model with 1 TB of diskspace this Fall.

The new reveal comes from a retailer source that PS4Daily spoke to, the same source who tipped us off on the upcoming Max Payne 3 PS4 remake, and the same source who first leaked the existence of the original Killzone Shadow Fall bundle back in 2013.

The retailer says that the only information they’ve received is the model number - called CUH-1001X - the “PLAYSTATION 4″ name, and a Q4 2014 release date. Further inquiries revealed that the big difference is the harddrive, which will double in capacity and likely be part of a new bundle.

The current US model number is CUH-1001A, the new model is called CUH-1001X, with the “X” signifying a change in the harddrive capacity. The last symbol in the model number stands for HDD capacity, which is currently “A”,...

16w ago - Today Sony Europe [Register or Login to view links] news of a [Register or Login to view links] teaser trailer video which appears to tease of an Until Dawn PS4 re-reveal with details below.

To quote: "Until Dawn became the poster child for Sony’s ill-fated PlayStation Move motion controller when it was first announced, which just goes to show how long the teen horror title has spent in hiding since being unveiled.

As suspected, a leaked GamesCom 2014 lineup last week confirmed the release for the PlayStation 4 - but Sony has yet to make an official comment on the error.

However, a new teaser trailer released by the platform holder has seemingly reiterated that the Supermassive Games developed exclusive will be on display in Cologne next week, as it shows a bloody snowflake falling to an icy floor. This is reminiscent of the introduction used when the game was originally revealed, and certainly matches its snowy setting.

Other announcements expected next week include next-gen iterations of Journey and The Unfinished Swan, as well as potential project debuts from Media Molecule and Guerrilla Games. We hope that you’ve recovered from E3 2014 earlier in the year, because this...

350°
17w ago - Today Sony has made available a [Register or Login to view links] revealing that they have already managed to cut the costs of PS4 hardware production which leaves PlayStation 4 fans curious if a price drop will be coming soon.

To quote: "The cuts have allowed Sony to revise its financial expectations, increasing its projected FY2015 operating income for its Games & Network Services division from 20bn yen to 25bn yen.

"Sales are expected to be higher than the May forecast primarily due to the strong performance of the PS4," Sony said in its latest earnings report. "Operating income is expected to be higher than the May forecast primarily due to PS4 hardware cost reductions."

The reduced costs suggest Sony could be better placed to cut the price of PS4 at an earlier point in its life-cycle - or continue to reap improved profits from ongoing sales.

PS4 sales stood at 7 million in April although Sony has failed to provide an update since. PS3 and PS4 sold a combined 3.4m units between April-June 2014, however, of which the vast majority are expected to be PS4."
