- IGN reports that Sony has invited press to an exclusive breakfast briefing with PlayStation next Thursday, January 30th, where it is rumored that they will unveil a PS Vita Slim (or perhaps a PS Vita TV international release) for Europe and North American regions.
The invitation (below) reads, to quote: "You are invited to an exclusive breakfast briefing with PlayStation.
Following the biggest launch in PlayStation history, join us for an introduction to the slimmest.
When: Thursday 30th January 2014 | 09:00-11:00"
The PS Vita Slim is already available in Japan, and is 20 percent thinner than the existing model, as well as being 15 percent lighter.
It does away with the OLED screen for a 5-inch LCD display, which helps the battery to supposedly last up to an hour longer. The Japanese one is available in six different colors too, though we've yet to see if that's replicated in the west.
Of course the announcement could be about something else entirely, but the Vita Slim seems to be the sensible option, especially given the new appeal the handheld has thanks to the PS4's remote play functionality.
Having only just launched the PS4, it's exceedingly unlikely that Sony would announced a slim version of the console right now as they traditionally...
