2d ago - Sony Producer Nicolas Doucet announced today that The Playroom: AR Studio is out tonight on PS4 with details below.

To quote: Over at [Register or Login to view links], we've been hard at work on new DLC for The Playroom. We're proud to announce AR Studio will be launching later today on PS4 for the low, low price of free!

Using the PS4 Camera, The Playroom became a way for PS4 owners to broadcast live 'shows' through the Live From PlayStation app. This piece of DLC is entirely built around that central concept. With AR Studio, formerly known as Set Maker, you can use your tablet or smartphone (Android or iOS), to turn your living room into a broadcasting studio.

Fill your sets with images or photos stored on your smart device, or draw your sets from scratch. You can also add various special effects to the screen like interactive smoke and lasers using your DualShock 4 controller. You will need to download the PlayStation App for your smart device, which you can get for free on either the App Store or Google Play.

Since our first reveal at E3 In June, we made a few additions to make an even better experience:

•We added a ton of screen effects to make your...

Sony Introduces Micro Console PlayStation TV, Stream PS4 to Rooms

300°
10w ago - Today Sony Senior Product Manager Adam Grant officially introduced their new micro console PlayStation TV to Europe, which allows gamers to stream the PS4 to other rooms in their house.

To quote: Introducing PlayStation TV - A new micro console available later this year for 99.

At E3 today we introduced PlayStation TV, an entertainment system that extends the capabilities of PlayStation 4 allowing players to stream their PS4 games to any TV in their house.

We believe PS TV makes the ideal companion to PS4, enhancing the user experience and connectivity of the console and providing a second gaming station for an attractive price - PS TV will be available this year in Europe and across the PAL region for 99 (RRP).

Released in Japan and Asian last November as PlayStation Vita TV, the system has since continuously evolved through software updates and content enhancements. Adopting the same chip sets and system software as the PlayStation Vita, PS TV has a 6.5cm 10.5cm ultra slim size - the smallest of any PlayStation platform that connects to a TV.

In response to the demands from users in Europe and the PAL region, SCEE will introduce the system under a new name and colour, and will deliver entertainment experiences only possible on PS TV.

The main...

18w ago - The Gameroom Product Development Manager Ashley Hodgetts announced that That Trivia Game is out today on the PlayStation 4 video gaming system with details below.

To quote: Get those thinking caps on and ready the crew for an intense battle of the minds - in a "not too serious" way. It's time for That Trivia Game!

That Trivia Game on PS4 is all about trivia. We spent a large portion of our time researching and creating questions that cover a wide range of categories and topics.

A thousand questions were hand-picked out of the thousands of candidates to ensure we had a fair and balanced collection of relevant and current trivia. The difficulty levels were carefully balanced so that everyone can get involved - there's nothing worse than being the only person playing that doesn't know any of the answers.

That Trivia Game has four rounds with fun and varying ways of playing. Each round adds its own twist to the trivia format, making every round fun and engaging, while still being easy to play.

As mentioned earlier, That Trivia Game has more than a thousand questions in a wide range of categories. This means that you can play around 40 games of That Trivia Game without seeing repeating questions. And at the price of $9.99, that's less than 1 cent per question!

Video: Introducing The PlayRoom on PS4, Only for PlayStation 4

100°
62w ago - Sony Producer Nicolas Doucet posted up a video today introducing The PlayRoom on PS4, and only for PlayStation 4 below!

To quote: Hi everybody! We're excited to unlock the doors to The PlayRoom, a place for fun and innovative PlayStation 4 Camera and DualShock 4 controller experiments!

As we recently announced, the DualShock 4 controller is packed with lots of new features (such as Light Bar, Touch Pad, Motion Sensor, Speaker, improved Dual Motors...). So what happens when we combine these with the PlayStation 4 Camera? Well, let us show you with this new video!

Let's start with the AR Menu. The first thing you will notice is how the Light Bar is tracked by the PlayStation 4 Camera. This allows us to make cool augmentations like these holographic panels, which come out of the controller and appear around you on the screen.

Using the Touch Pad, you can scroll through them and click to make selections. It's easy to use and very responsive, thanks to the high resolution of the Touch Pad.

Another cool finding is one we nicknamed "the sci-fi genie". By rubbing the Touch Pad like a magic lamp, you can summon Asobi, an interactive flying robot who comes out to play in your living room....
