35w ago - DrinkBox Studios COO Graham Smith announced alongside a launch trailer video that Guacamelee rolls onto PS3 and PS Vita today.
To quote: I'm extra excited to announce that Guacamelee! comes out today on PS3 and PS Vita via PSN.
We're releasing the game as part of the Spring Fever promotion: $14.99 will get you both the PS3 and PS Vita versions, with a 20% discount for PlayStation Plus members.
Still there? Then allow me to add that Guacamelee! is a metroid-vania style brawler that supports Cross-Buy, Cross-Save, Cross-Control, has a precious Platinum trophy, and comes complete with rapid punching action.
Punch, punch, punch! Speaking of which, you may now be saying, "Hey guy, what's up with all of the punch talk?" Take a look...
Well, when we started making Guacamelee! we knew we wanted to include punching, but not just ordinary punching. We built a proof-of-concept demo, a video of which I have included below for your approval.
As you can see, we had blocking, we had holds, and we had charge-up moves. You'll be interested to know that we now have none of those things! Why, you ask?
51w ago - Creative Director Nicklas Nygren at Nifflas' Games revealed that Knytt Underground rolls to both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita consoles today complete with a video trailer below.
To quote: I've always wanted to develop a game that is heavily-story based, but I've always waited to do it until I had a story I really want to tell; something personal and different.
Problem is, I can't just decide to come up with such a story whenever I want. It's an unusual and mysterious process and it kind of just... happens. Knytt Underground is the result of this process. Oh, and it's also a pretty sweet exploration platform game.
Knytt Underground tells a quirky and strange tale that connects to various things in my own life. It's set in the future, hundreds of years after the humans disappeared from the planet. Sprites, fairies and various other lifeforms roam tunnels underground.
They are curious about their origin and the meaning of life, and to find those answers they try to understand the ones who had obviously figured it out: the humans.
One organization is devoted to understanding our science and language. They have successfully decoded that the letter J symbolizes a hook and O the full moon. Another group tries to combine the truths of our different religions....
54w ago - Heavy Spectrum's Matt Birch has announced that Puzziball is rolling into the PlayStation Mobile Store today.
To quote: Heavy Spectrum here. It's exciting to be talking to you all again so soon! After Bullion Blitz we've been working hard to get the second of our debut titles to the PlayStation Mobile store, and tomorrow you'll be able to check it out!
The game is Puzziball, and like our previous game Bullion Blitz, it came about from a desire to create something tactile and engaging. This time however, we focused on sliding your fingers and how that could translate into a game which "felt" like a physical object.
As with the first title, we iterated through many control ideas quickly, and the moment we felt things fall into place was when we combined dragging objects around the screen with the occasional flick of the device to "bounce" the playing area.
Inspired by vintage sliding block puzzle games (like the ones you had as a kid!), using this mechanic we devised a game that combined the fun factor of those classic games with modern twists to tax the brain.
So here it is - Puzziball, a dynamic puzzle with a ball trapped in a maze constructed of movable "sliders." The sliders are arranged in two layers,...
94w ago - Namco Bandai Games Community Manager Rich Bantegui has announced that Touch My Katamari rolls onto PlayStation Vita today complete with a video trailer below!
To quote: Ladies, gentlemen, princes, and cousins - How are you enjoying the PS Vita launch today? Those of you that have been following our crew over here at Namco Bandai Games know that we're out in full force on PS Vita, and today we've set forth on an all-new adventure with The King of All Cosmos himself.
You can see what the critics are saying in the launch trailer below, but we think we want to hear what YOU have to think? Have you picked it up yet? Have you picked up EVERYTHING yet? Let us know, we want to hear from you!
You see, The King and @FilthieRich go way back to the PS2 days. It was there when I first met The King, much like many of you. We've had plenty of adventures together over the years, but we've never quite had a handheld frolic across the land of candy, crayons, robots, and cephalopods quite like this one.
Definitely not one with two analog sticks... and definitely not one that lets you stretch and squeeze the Katamari for crazy...
