Paste Magazine has created a 'Top 10 NES Games of All Time' list today.
To quote: The video games on this list kept me company through many an elementary-school sleepover at friends' houses, provided endless fodder for recess playground conversation and even inspired a few short stories from yours truly (each plot revolving around the fantasy of getting sucked inside a video game).
In honor of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I dedicate this list and to Shigeru Miyamoto and all the other folks at Nintendo who made all that fun possible... oh, and of course my beloved aunt Jean who sent me and my siblings our first NES console.
10. Gradius [Konami] - 1986
Collecting the power-up pellets and pimping out your little spaceship provided the irresistible hook. Once you got three rows of lasers firing, your robotic foes stood little chance.
9. Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse [Konami] - 1990

Those of you who frequent the rumor mill will remember reports earlier in the year that PC hardware specialists Acer were going to release a console to compete with the likes of the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Of course it all turned out to be a load of horse shit, but even this outlandish rumour had an element of truth to it. Acer were working on a game specific machine, although it is actually a highly specialized PC and God damn it’s a sexy looking thing!
In Sydney this week, we were given a chance to rub its sunset orange Lamborghini-inspired exterior, poke about in its innards and give Call of Duty 4 a hammering and we have to say, it was hard not to be impressed.
Aimed specifically at the extreme gamer category, three tiers of the Acer Aspire Predator are in stores right now, ranging from around $4,000 - $8,000, depending on just how big you want your e-peen to be. This is the top end of the spectrum, pushing the latest and greatest tech – from 4... More »
Sony's Home is one of the most highly anticipated titles on the PlayStation 3, and it has the potential to revolutionise the way users interact online. However, there's no doubt it's taken a long time to come to fruition.
At the Sony E3 2008 press conference, the company reiterated Home's importance to the platform and promised that it would release an open beta in the third quarter of 2008.
Home is designed to bring together Sony's three key interests: gaming, music, and movies. The home square is the embodiment of this intention and houses a gaming arcade, a movie theatre, a music zone, as well as shops and meeting areas.
The games arcade allows you to play simple games against other people from right inside Home. These include such games as chess, pool, and bowling — all of which could be described as simple but addictive mini-games. From our preliminary look at the pool game, the physics feel good, but they won't compete with a proper stand... More »
According to Pureauthor of NeoGAF, the latest issue of Nintendo Power has a full page article on the once-rumored Mega Man 9. While only the tiny scans are currently available, the article reportedly mentions that the game is in development by Inticreates of Mega Man ZX fame, and will be released digitally on WiiWare.
Will MM9 be making its way to other download outlets, such as PSN and XBLA? It’s likely. Of course you can’t expect Nintendo Power to mention that, though. Either way, expect an official announcement soon, on or before E3.

Tornado Man
Splash Woman (Um, not too sure on the last one.)
