Trials Fusion: Riders of the Rustlands DLC on PlayStation 4 Today

50°
8w ago - Community Manager Daniel Nixon announced that Trials Fusion: Riders of the Rustlands PS4 DLC arrives on PlayStation 4 today!

To quote: Rev up your engines, Riders of the Rustlands is coming to your Playstation 4 today! It's time to continue your journey of racing dominance on the leaderboards by venturing into the fringes of civilization, leaving the cityscapes and high-tech regions in the dust.

In the Rustlands, you will encounter the home of people who have been ignored and forgotten by their government, people forced to scavenge through the shambles of once-thriving facilities in an effort to survive outside of the gleaming high-rises and vast cities. Warring factions, neglected laboratories and tetanus boosters are a way of life in the Rustlands.

Riders of the Rustlands brings ten new tracks to Trials Fusion, adding six medium-and-up difficulty classic Trials Tracks, two Supercross Tracks, one Skill Game, and one FMX Track.

There are also 18 Track Challenges, with new secret locations, and additional squirrels to be discovered, as well as 5 new trophies to earn. Track creators will find a nice selection of new Rustlands pieces in the Track Editor to use in their custom content.

Video: Sportsfriends: Building a Better Pole Riders for PS3

97w ago - Foddy Founder and Head Honcho Bennett Foddy has shared a Sportsfriends: Super Pole Riders video today spotlighting the building of a better Pole Riders for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

To quote: In 2010, when I started making Pole Riders, my original plan was to make a straight pole-vaulting game, like the ones in Summer Games or Daley Thompson's Decathlon, both games that were super-popular when I was six years old. Back in 1984, local multiplayer games were nearing the peak of their popularity.

In the arcades, there were games like Joust and Track & Field, but at home, and in the public libraries, the Epyx compilations ruled the roost: not just Summer Games but Winter Games and the immortal California Games too. I was absolutely obsessed with the pole-vault event in Summer Games and for the longest time, I wanted to make my own version of it.

Perhaps it's no coincidence, then, that I'm now involved in Sportsfriends, which is a spiritual successor to Summer Games - a compilation of four sports-themed games, to be played by up to four friends on the one couch.

But unlike the old Epyx compilations, none of the Sportsfriends games play it straight. Hokra is a hockey game with no goals and no sticks. BaraBariBall is a volleyball game with no net, where the...

Mad Riders Developer Interview with Level Designer Marek Sobol

121w ago - Ubisoft International Product Manager Assistant Arnaud Marchand has shared a Mad Riders developer interview today with Lead Level Designer Marek Sobol below.

To quote: What is [Register or Login to view links]?

It's a super-fast, super fun arcade racer with beautiful environments, incredible stunts and unrivalled speed. Mad Riders is full of content: 45 tracks, customizable vehicles and drivers, various single-player and multiplayer modes.

The challenge was to do something different than the traditional package for a racing game and we think we have a game that offers great value for money!

Can you describe the idea behind the development of Mad Riders in one word?

Most definitely 'fun'! Mad Riders was never meant to be a simulator, it's an arcade game that had to be easy to pick up and enjoyable for anyone.

We needed to get into this crazy mind-set of creating an arcade game in the best sense of the word, old school fun for everyone but infused with the spirit of competition, and this "No way! Did you see THAT?!" feeling you get when playing with friends.

So you're getting hours of fun for the price of a large pizza, now is this stuff extreme or what?!

How does that...
