55w ago - Insomniac Games Community Lead James Stevenson has announced today that the Resistance Collection lands on PS3 December 5th.
To quote: This holiday season just got better. Resistance Collection is hitting stores starting December 5th, and it makes a great gift for any shooter fan who hasn't had a chance to experience one of the best FPS trilogies on PS3.
Resistance started as I-8, a return to Insomniac's roots making first-person shooters (Disruptor was our first-ever game on PSOne).
It evolved from a space opera featuring lizard-like aliens into an alternate history World War I shooter, before eventually evolving into the 1950s-era game that launched alongside PS3. Over the three titles, we had an incredible experience developing the Resistance franchise for PlayStation fans.
From Resistance: Fall of Man's 40-player multiplayer, to Resistance 2's 8-player online co-op, to Resistance 3's heroic survival of Joseph Capelli in a brutal world, everyone at Insomniac is incredibly proud of what we accomplished with the Resistance trilogy.
For all of you who haven't had the chance to check them out yet, the trilogy gives you the opportunity to experience them...

105w ago - Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price has announced that Resistance 3 PS3 gets a Co-op Brutality Pack featuring Mastodon today, with a video trailer posted below.
To quote: On behalf of everyone at Insomniac Games and Sony I'm very excited to announce Resistance 3's Brutality Pack, available today for download from the PlayStation Store!
This new DLC, priced at $3.99, features a vicious survival mode where you face off against an army of ravenous Grims as they try to take you and your friends down. And yup, it's co-op - both online and offline.
Plus, you get a special Mick Cutler skin AND the sledgehammer unlocked for all of the game's modes, as well as a special Warden Static PS3 Theme.
But what has me most stoked personally is that the Brutality Pack fittingly features the music of the incomparable, Grammy nominated, Mastodon.
We're featuring seven tracks, including three songs from their just-released album The Hunter, two instrumental versions of Blood Mountain tracks and two special bonus songs from the deluxe version of The Hunter.
Check out the brand new trailer that we're releasing today to see the new gameplay mode in action set to one of Mastodon's latest singles, "Spectrelight".
113w ago - Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has shared a video spotlighting the Resistance 3 Survivor Pack, which includes Invasion Mode, new skins and hits PSN today!
To quote: We're excited to announce the release of the Resistance 3 Survival DLC pack today on the PlayStation Store for $3.99. First and foremost, the Survival DLC pack brings you a new game mode for multiplayer called Invasion.
The Invasion mode forces Human and Chimeran teams to divide their resources with the goal of holding multiple control nodes on the map simultaneously. The more nodes your team holds, the faster you score points - and thus, achieve victory.
There is a lot of deep strategy in determining which nodes to attack, as well as how many players should hang back to defend your nodes while retaining enough offensive force to successfully attack enemy nodes. We hope you enjoy it!
That's not all though - the Survival DLC pack includes special multiplayer skins of some of the major survivors from the game: Herbert, Jonathan, Jean, and Charlie. You'll also get a bonus Resistance 3 Survivor Concept Art Static XMB Theme.
It's been just over a month since we launched Resistance 3, and we hope that you've gotten the chance to jump online and experience the game's multiplayer...

Patch 1.02 for Resistance 3 is now available worldwide. We apologize for having two large patches this close to launch, but as you know, we've had a lot of issues to address from the Public Beta, and this has created the need for large patches. If you just want to play SP, you can ignore the patches (though there are some small fixes to the campaign) - but to go online, you will need to download them.
We wanted to detail some of the fixes in 1.02 for you. There are A LOT of fixes in this patch, some of which some players may not notice and are not worth detailing, but here are the big ones:
• Players should no longer get into "dead" games that don't operate correctly
• Improvement in framerate/lag

• Fewer players floating / clipping through environment
• Fix for freezing/crashing issues if you join a game as it is ending
• Can no longer leave party while in a co-op game (was causing a crash)
• Party fixes dealing with multiple invites, co-op
