89w ago - Today the Resistance 3 PS3 patch version 1.02 is available, and the developers at Insomniac Games have shared the update details, as follows:
Patch 1.02 for Resistance 3 is now available worldwide. We apologize for having two large patches this close to launch, but as you know, we've had a lot of issues to address from the Public Beta, and this has created the need for large patches. If you just want to play SP, you can ignore the patches (though there are some small fixes to the campaign) - but to go online, you will need to download them.
We wanted to detail some of the fixes in 1.02 for you. There are A LOT of fixes in this patch, some of which some players may not notice and are not worth detailing, but here are the big ones:
• Players should no longer get into "dead" games that don't operate correctly
• Improvement in framerate/lag
• Matchmaking fixes
• Fewer players floating / clipping through environment
• Fix for freezing/crashing issues if you join a game as it is ending
• Can no longer leave party while in a co-op game (was causing a crash)
• Party fixes dealing with multiple invites, co-op
• Some SFX in St. Louis have been cleaned up
• Broadway map now loads games correctly

93w ago - Today Insomniac Games has released the Resistance 3 PS3 Beta Patch version 2.01, which aims to rectify matchmaking issues with more details outlined below.
To quote from their recent update: Matchmaking
In good news, we have sent a patch (Update 2.01) that addresses the matchmaking issues into final testing at Sony, and are hoping to have it up by tomorrow night UK time, so that you EU folks joining the beta should be able to matchmake.
This additional patch will be required, and will allow us to re-enable matchmaking, which should again (hopefully) happen sometime in the late morning Pacific Time tomorrow. This should address the issues and allow you to use matchmaking to find games again, while also addressing a few crashes.
Thanks for your patience while we developed and fixed the issue - and please continue to report any issues you find with matchmaking to us so we can continue to tweak and optimize. We will continue to update you on the status of the 2.01 patch as it gets through final testing, staging, and release in the next day or so.

210w ago - Insomniac are known for supporting their products, and they've just announced that Patch 1.60 is going to be released for Resistance 2 on the 14th of May, 2009.
On the Resistance 2 community forums (linked above), Bryan Intihar gave fans of the shooter the lo-down on what to expect in the latest update:
To quote: In our ongoing effort to improve Resistance 2 comes patch 1.60, which will be available for download on May 14 (you'll automatically receive the download prompt the next time you play the game). In addition to some routine behind-the-scenes work, here are some things you'll notice after installing the patch:
• Access to Allies menu has been fixed
• You can now launch Resistance 2 from Home
• Added "Send Message" to the player interaction menu

Game on! Tomorrow (March 26) we'll be bringing you a host of downloadable content for Resistance 2, plus another patch that helps improve the online experience even further (and includes several requests that came from...well, you!). So let's get right down to it, shall we?
The DLC comes in two forms: new competitive multiplayer maps and character skins. The Aftermath Map Pack features three new battlefields, two set in Twin Falls (Aftermath and Pit Stop) and another in Orick (Outpost).
All of the maps support 20-player Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, while Outpost also lets you play 20-player Core Control. The Aftermath Map Pack will be available for download through the PlayStation Store for $5.99.
We also have six new competitive multiplayer character skins. In addition to our usual band of brothers (of the human, Cloven, and Chimeran variety), we even have two selections for our female R2 players. You can download the following skins through the PlayStation Store for $0.99 each: Rachael Parker, Female Soldier, Ravager, Cloven (Retribution model), Ranger Variation, and Black Ops Variation.

If you played Resistance: Fall of Man, you know that Insomniac continually looked for ways to improve the online experience, even several months after the game's release.
We're taking the same approach with Resistance 2, as patch 1.40 will be available for download on Monday, January 26 (you'll automatically receive the download prompt the next time you play the game). The patch addresses several areas, including:
Some people have seen their competitive and/or cooperative characters reset to level 1. For several of those cases, this patch will not only bring back all the XP, stats, and attributes that you've lost, but it will also add to your character profile the XP/stats/attributes that you've earned since those levels were reset.
For example, say you were a level 20 medic and after being reset to level 1, and you earned 5,000 XP. Thanks to the patch, you'll return a level 20 medic and that 5,000 XP will be added to your profile.
This patch will also correct some medal and trophy issues, including the "Killing Machine" trophy (if you've already accumulated 10,000 kills but haven't...
