7w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman is back with a Killzone Shadow Fall PS4 video today alongside answers to PlayStation 4 questions from fans below.
To quote: As Killzone Shadow Fall gears up for PS4's November 15th launch in North America, we caught up with Game Director Steven Ter Heide to get answers to your burning questions across single-player and multiplayer.
We reveal new details on co-op, dedicated servers, weapons, DualShock 4, and much more. Enjoy!
@ShawnMacLean: Is Killzone Shadow Fall a good entry point to the Killzone franchise?
Steven Ter Heide: Absolutely! In many ways, Killzone Shadow Fall is a fresh start for the franchise - the game takes place some thirty years after the original Killzone trilogy, so most of the characters and story arcs from those games have passed into history. And while die-hard fans will appreciate the nods to earlier Killzone titles, no knowledge of the Killzone universe is required to get into the story.
@nick_serio: How long is the campaign?
STH: Killzone Shadow Fall's campaign should last well over 10 hours for most gamers.
8w ago - Spry Fox Chief Creative Officer Daniel Cook shared details today on how unexpected life events inspired Road Not Taken on PS Vita and PS4.
To quote: There is a repeated theme in our upcoming game, Road Not Taken, which we announced here back in August. The characters in our little northern town have all lived their lives according to the same plan: first you go to school, then you get a job, then you fall in love and finally you start a family.
But life doesn't always work out that way.
I grew up expecting to live a very traditional Norman Rockwell-style life. We had a little house on a lovely winding road in rural Maine. I did well in school; checked all the official checkboxes. Then upon entering the real world, things fell apart.
On the job front, I've been through multiple careers. My "safe" job at a large stable employer - the sort of job many people dream about - well, that was an incredibly bad fit for me.
I've joined sketchy start-ups that failed. And some that succeeded. I've been fired for idly drawing pictures of planes inserted into bums. I've been hired at double the salary because (as I learned later) I wore the right type of hat to the interview.
I live in a tiny condo in a big city, not a house in the suburbs. There...
8w ago - We've all heard of the dreaded PS3 YLOD (Yellow Light of Death) syndrome, but today a photo surfaced showing a demo PS4 console overheating and displaying what has been dubbed the Red Line of Death (PS4 RLOD) followed by Sony responding.
To quote: The picture was taken at a PS4 event in Spain and posted by Elotrolado member Homer J. Simpson in his report (via elotrolado.net/hilo_playstation-4_1864860_s36130#p1733944694) of the event. Here are his complete updated comments (roughly translated from Spanish):
“In terms of sound, practically none, you can hear the fan if you listened closely but nothing exaggerated. they had ventilated consoles and others put in enclosures completely closed that were running from 9am without stopping (we got there at 18:00 in the evening). they were running fine and were quite warm on the surface but nothing like our current generation consoles.
The only exception to that was one console that was completely enclosed in an acrylic case, it was showing a red light (where there would typically be a blue light) and there...
