52w ago - Today Sony PlayStation 3 hackers Cyberskunk and evilsperm of Team Rebug have released a PS3 4.11 Version Spoofer 2.2 for 3.55 CFW and also a Rebug Update Package 0.7 (3.55.2) which temporarily restores PSN access once again on Custom Firmware!

While this is great news for the time being to play 3.55 titles (3.56+ won't work) online, Sony will likely release a PlayStation 3 Firmware update to block the new method being used in coming days in order to resecure PlayStation Network with an updated PSN Auth X-Platform-Passphrase (which resides in a decrypted VSH.SELF) and prevent PS3 Custom Firmware users from gaining access unfortunately.

If you are unsure if a PlayStation 3 game or patch update will work on PSN via PS3 CFW, simply extract the PARAM.SFO from the PKG and view it using a PS3 PARAM.SFO Editor to examine the PS3_SYSTEM_VER value. If it is 03.5500 or below the game will work online and the patch update can be installed.
