Take-Two Confirms Mafia 2 Release to Arrive in Q4 2010

236w ago - JoyStiq's Christopher Grant has received confirmation from Take-Two Interactive that the upcoming Mafia 2 release will indeed arrive on Windows and both XBox 360 and PS3 consoles in Q4 2010.

To quote: "Earlier this month, Take-Two announced the potential movement of one of the titles planned for release in its fiscal fourth quarter, extending from August to October.

The choices were: LA Noire, Mafia 2, Max Payne 3, or Civilization V. During our demo of Mafia 2 on Wednesday, we were told the game would make its Q4 release, removing it from the list of potentially delayed titles.

If we were the betting type, we'd be looking at one of those two Rockstar titles; after all, we've seen Civilization V at this point while LA Noire and Max Payne 3 remain shrouded in mystery."

Sony's Q4 Cinema Campaign Marketing Blitz Revealed

309w ago - According to SCEE UK marketing manager Adam Boita, "The main thrust of our advertising this Christmas season will be in cinema."

Sony will launch its Q4 marketing assault with a huge cinema ad campaign - and has told the trade to look out for a new range of bundles for PS3 and PSP in time for Christmas.

To quote: Speaking exclusively to MCV, the software and hardware giant said it believed it had the wide range of titles needed to target each corner of the market, and that cinema advertising was the ideal way to convey that message to consumers.

"All our key IPs this year are being backed by major campaigns. Our cinema silver spot ties all the IP activity together and was kick-started with Buzz! Quiz TV on September 19th.

It will be running until the end of December, taking in MotorStorm Pacific Rift, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 and SingStar."

GTA IV to come to PC this November?

50°
334w ago - With the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV upon us, many Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners are more than ready to get started on the title, but will PC gamers have something to look forward to this November?

According to German video games retailer citydisc.ch, a PC version of GTA IV will be released on November 30 of this year.

Back in January, the same rumor began circulating that Rockstar would release a PC version, but in October. That rumor cited retail plans.

Previous titles of the Grand Theft Auto series have taken between six to eight months to arrive on the PC after debuting on console, which makes a November release plausible.

Grand Theft Auto IV heads onto both the Xbox 360 and PS3 Tuesday. Rockstar Games has yet to confirm if the game will ever see the light of day on PC.
