Video: Puzzle Platformer Klaus Coming to PS4 and PlayStation Vita

50°
2w ago - Game Designer Victor Velasco shared a trailer video today spotlighting Puzzle Platformer Klaus coming to PS4 and PlayStation Vita platforms below.

To quote: Klaus is a narrative driven, 2D puzzle-platformer that provides a non linear, self-aware experience while striving towards a fluid gameplay that allows the player to control two characters as well as the environment.

Together, Klaus will be an immersive gameplay experience on PS4 and PS Vita in the second quarter of 2015.

Klaus wakes up in a mechanical prison with complete amnesia: he doesn't remember who he is or how he got there. His only clue is the word KLAUS tattooed on his arm.

This mystery will develop through the narrative, as Klaus meets other characters (both friendly and hostile) and discovers clues littered throughout the environment. Through exploration, the player will piece together his past and the realities of the enigmatic world he finds himself stuck in.

Along the way, Klaus will meet K1, a friendly brute damaged by prolonged imprisonment. With Klaus' hacking ability, and K1′s propensity to smash, our two protagonists will have to work together to reach the end of their existential journey.

Spiky Fish Games Unveils Sketchcross, A Puzzle Game for PS Vita

50°
3w ago - Spiky Fish Games CEO Kendal Cormany unveiled Sketchcross, a puzzle game for PS Vita today with details below.

To quote: Hi everyone, my name is Kendal and I'm the CEO and lead programmer at Spiky Fish Games. We're excited to announce that our debut game, Sketchcross, is launching exclusively for PS Vita in early 2015.

Sketchcross is a logic puzzler based on the nonogram ruleset. If you're not familiar, think of a mix between crosswords and sudoku. You're given number clues on the rows and columns to help sketch in the corresponding squares on the grid.

Doing so starts to reveal the picture you're creating. A full-fledged nonogram-based game has not yet been fully realized for Playstation here in North America, and we were determined to change that.

Sketchcross will launch with 50 puzzles ranging from simple 5X5 shapes to complex 30X30 animals. The game has been designed to be easily expandable and our plan is to offer additional puzzles after launch.

Solving puzzles reveals the completed shape in block form, solving all the puzzles in a book awards the player that book's unique trophy. Trophy's are stored in your trophy room and are accessible at any time. Additionally, each puzzle has a time leaderboard where you can compare your completed times with the...

The Talos Principle on PS4: When Story Meets Puzzle

50°
21w ago - Writer Tom Jubert outlines When Story Meets Puzzle in The Talos Principle on PS4 today with details below, to quote:

Hello. I'm Tom Jubert, one of the writers on The Talos Principle for PS4, and I'm here to tell you a bit about the game because the other guys are lazy busy with finishing it.

Announced during the PlayStation press conference at E3 in June, The Talos Principle is a first-person philosophical puzzler from Croteam, the guys behind the Serious Sam games. It's a bit atmospheric, a bit sci-fi, and a proper challenge if you're looking for one.

The guys brought myself and Jonas Kyratzes on as writers around 9 months ago to deliver on their aspirations for the atmosphere and story. In The Talos Principle, you inhabit a robot body in a digital recreation of the ancient world, and explore at the behest of an omnipresent voice in the sky.

We're keeping our cards close to our chest on this one, but you could say Philip K. Dick's oeuvre is a close match for our general motif. We hope there's loads here to dig into and piece together if you're so minded, but equally if you're just here for the puzzles it won't get in your way.

About those puzzles. The concept has its roots in experimental puzzle mechanics developed for Serious Sam 4, and shares with that game...

Video: Liquid Puzzle Game Vessel is Coming to PS3 on March 11th

50°
39w ago - Strange Loop Games Studio Head John Krajewski posted up a video today announcing that Liquid Puzzle Game Vessel is coming to PS3 on March 11th, 2014.

To quote: Vessel will be coming to console exclusively for PS3 on March 11th!

To celebrate this launch, we've created a limited edition of Vessel Turbines, a desk toy that gives you your very own "Fluro" in a bottle. Each bottle contains a large blob of Ferrofluid, a magnetic liquid that comes to life when you apply a magnet - just like the creatures of Vessel.

You can buy it on our [Register or Login to view links] and get a key for Vessel on PS3.

In the game Vessel, you take the role of inventor Arkwright who has created living machines made out of liquid (called "Fluros" that are wreaking havoc around the world. You set out to solve the Fluro problem and unravel the mystery of what they're becoming.

Vessel takes a unique approach in gaming by creating all the creatures out of liquid. Their bodies are composed of thousands of physically simulated fluid particles. This means that they're capable of things that few other creatures in a video game are, like melting, reforming into new shapes, flowing through barriers, regrowing lost limbs, chemically...

Video: PS Vita Gets Augmented Reality Puzzle Game PulzAR Today

50°
128w ago - Sony Associate Producer Shaun Wharton has confirmed that PlayStation Vita owners will have access to augmented reality puzzle game PulzAR beginning today with details below!

To quote: We're very excited to announce the release of PulzAR today, available on PSN for $1.99. In case you've missed our past PulzAR blog posts, here's a word from the game's lead designer to usher in today's release.

I'm Neall Jones, Lead Designer for the next great addition to the PS Vita AR games, PulzAR.

So, what's PulzAR all about then? Well the Earth is in grave danger, somewhere just beyond our planet's outer atmosphere five giant asteroids are heading on a deadly collision course with the planet.

It's up to you, the player, to command a network of laser powered rockets to try and blast the asteroids into a harmless meteor shower before they hit the Earth.

The first Play Card placed is used as the Arena card and draws the level out, then the puzzles use up to 5 Play Cards to place the three types of objects in the game; Reflectors, Splitters and Color Filters.

There have been other laser and light based games before, but none of them have let you see the game world and play it on your table top, something that can only be done with the PS Vita.
