197w ago - Future Publishing has confirmed that it is closing PSW Magazine due to decreasing demand.

The company now plans to focus their efforts on the official PlayStation Magazine and PSM3.

To quote: "It's always incredibly sad when we close a title as established as PSW, but the decision was taken in response to decreasing demand," games portfolio publishing director James Binns explained.

"By focusing our efforts on Official PlayStation Magazine and a single independent PlayStation title in PSM3, we can strengthen our position in delivering the number one and number two print titles in the sector.

"We continue to invest in our traditional print brands, but games is a rapidly changing sector, so our portfolio needs to constantly evolve to meet the needs of consumers in a vibrant and diverse market."

204w ago - Despite Sony stating that the recent PS Cloud rumor was pure conjecture, today Glyn_Dwr has shared a little substantial evidence that PS Cloud does exist.

A small paragraph of information on PS 'Cloud' in July 09 issue of PSW page 73! Sorry about the lousy quality, the article reads:

You've always been able to create and share levels in PSN puzzler Echochrome, but an update will let you do this via 'Cloud'.

This system removes the need for Sony to check levels before being uploaded - an early problem for LittleBigPlanet. The new update will also allow for Playstation Eye support.

You will be able to film yourself solving the game's complex puzzles and then upload your performance to YouTube. Trash Panic also enables you to upload footage.

Does this mean we can expect to see user-created content via Playstation Cloud in future games?

205w ago - It appears the latest issue of PlayStation World Magazine reveals that both a PS3 price cut and the rumored PS3 Slim will both be announced at this year's Tokyo Game Show.

To quote: Expect the long-awaited price chop to be announced at the Tokyo Games Show.

This year the Tokyo Games Show will be held from September 24 to September 27 in the Makuhari Messe, in Chiba, Japan.

Sony could make this announcement a lot sooner now that Activision CEO, Bobby Kotick has threatened to stop supporting the PS3 if a price cut is not announced soon.

The PS3 Slim packaging looks almost identical to the confirmed PSP Go, so it isn't a fake. Expect the smaller, lighter PS3 to be announced at the Tokyo Games Show in September, just in time for Xmas.

212w ago - Since the start on the PS3 revolution, PSN Players have been going on and on at Sony asking for new avatars. People have even been creating them!

Well good news for every single one of you. In a recent PSW Magazine it stated "new psn avatars are on the way" so everyone get ready because they are coming.

To quote: Probably within the next month its been said, but no date has been confirmed. Withing the last 2 weeks there has been 1 new avatar added. A 'Super Fly'.

PSW believes that there will be a new InFamous, Sackboy (more than 1), Prototype and Wolverine Avatars all available before the Summer.

We believe there will also be 2 new Uncharted 2 Avatars & also 1 new avatar from the Sony's Killzone 2.
