2w ago - XSeed Localization Specialist Tom Lipschultz announced today that Ys: Memories of Celceta is out today for PS Vita.
To quote: It's here! Ys: Memories of Celceta, the latest installment in Nihon Falcom's storied Ys series, is out today for PS Vita. It's $39.99 for the digital or physical standard edition, and $59.99 for the swanky Silver Anniversary Edition.
The Silver Edition comes with a 130-page "Travel Journal" full of art, maps, and strategies, a cloth map depicting the lands of Celceta, a three CD compilation of original and arranged music, and a logo-emblazoned compass.
Last time on the blog, I spoke of Celceta's myriad features, its basic premise, and the history of the many games called "Ys IV," but one question I kept hearing was, "Is this a good place to start if I've never played an Ys game before?"
And while I did my best to reassure you all that you'll be just fine starting your adventure here in Celceta, I thought it might be prudent to go into a little more detail on what the series is, how it's changed over the years, and just how accessible its games really are.
So... let's start at the beginning, shall we?
The Ys series debuted in 1987 on various Japanese computer systems, and was an instant hit due to its fast-paced action, its...
3w ago - Mossmouth's Derek Yu announced today that daily challenges are now available in Spelunky on PS3 and PS Vita platforms.
Below are the details, to quote: Hey, everyone! It's Derek once again. First off, thank you for your tremendous support of Spelunky on PS3 and PS Vita.
You've made it clear that it was the right choice bringing the game to PlayStation! We're really happy about how the game has been received (generally with much glee, followed by screams of anguish, followed by more glee).
But I'm really here to talk about our first update, which is out now. Of course, every game launches with some number of bugs, and Blitworks has been working hard to fix as many of those as possible. The slowdown in certain areas of the game was probably the biggest issue, and that's been addressed. They also fixed a bug that was preventing certain Trophies from being earned.
Also, if you've been watching streams of people playing Spelunky on PC, you may have noticed that that version of the game has a unique feature called the Daily Challenge, where each day a set of levels is generated that has the same seed for everyone playing it. If you get a high score on the Daily Challenge, you can really attribute it to your skill and knowledge of the game, rather than the luck of the draw (i.e....

3w ago - Sony Community Manager James Spafford posted up a video today spotlighting Media Molecule, the team behind Tearaway on PS Vita below!
To quote: The last video in our little Tearaway miniseries is all about us: Media Molecule, the studio behind Tearaway and our first game LittleBigPlanet.
The video focuses on how we work, and how we assure everyone's ideas are counted. Mm is an interesting place, a rather chaotic place where the term 'herding cats' gets thrown around a lot, but where somehow the chaos is channeled into communal creativity and the games we love to make.
We love to inspire creativity in people, and we love to create our own unique games that we think will give people experiences unlike any they've had before.
Tearaway is out this Friday, November 22nd and we hope it will provide players with exactly that - a new game experience unlike any other - we'll let you be the judge!
We hope you enjoy this last video in the series- remember to pre-order Tearaway to secure the cool pre-order bonus items. Week one orders at the PS Store will also include the bonus items, so those who prefer the digital version will not miss out!
