Hello Games: Joe Danger is Coming to PS Vita on September 2nd

50°
3w ago - Today Alex Wiltshire at Hello Games confirmed that Joe Danger is coming to PS Vita on September 2nd, 2014.

Below are the details, to quote: Hello! Let's get right to it!

We're excited to announce that our game Joe Danger will be launching for PS Vita on September 2nd via PlayStation Store!

And that's not all! PlayStation Plus members will get it for FREE as part of their September batch of games. Actually, you might already know this, because Sony's official PlayStation Plus September announcement has made that pretty clear.

We know it's been a bit of a wait, but we wanted to make sure it is perfect, and we're incredibly proud of what we've been able to achieve. It's everything you'd expect from Joe Danger in your hands.

It runs at a super smooth target of 60 frames per second, it's pin-sharp, and super colorful.

It features every level in the PS3 original, plus the never-before-released on PlayStation Laboratory levels, making 84 levels in total. That's a lot of game. Our UK indie friends Four Door Lemon have really helped us make it the perfect version.

What else... There are 25 characters to play as, a full set of Trophies to win, and the Vita version features a slightly tweaked control system so it plays really nicely. For the first...

Steel Wool Games: Flyhunter Origins Buzzes Onto PS Vita Soon

50°
15w ago - Steel Wool Games Co-Founder Andrew Dayton announced today that Flyhunter Origins buzzes onto PS Vita soon with details below.

To quote: Hello, I'm Andrew Dayton, Co-Founder of Steel Wool Games. Getting the green light to make our first game doesn't seem that long ago. And now, we're living the dream and exhibiting Flyhunter Origins on PS Vita this year at E3!

Steel Wool Games was started by five animated film veterans (including myself) with a shared love for games, a desire to create something fun together and a combined 60 years of film animation experience. Sounds simple, probably makes for a good story. How hard could it be?

Well, hard... exceptionally hard in fact. But it was also an absolutely amazing experience.

We knew what we were good at and were well aware of what we lacked in experience. Being a gamer makes you no more fit to design a game than an avid movie watcher would be directing a film. Joshua (one of our other Co-Founders) had experience building game rules for his table top gaming company Zombiesmith, so we had a good grounding in game mechanics.

Building a game that we wanted to play ourselves was daunting but we were determined. We did our research, studied games of the genre and we took advantage of the experience in game craft from our...

Charlie's Games Announces Son of Scoregasm is Coming to PS Vita

50°
18w ago - Charlie's Games developer Charlie Knight announced today that Son of Scoregasm is coming to PlayStation Vita.

Below are the details, as follows: Hi, I'm Charlie of Charlie's Games.

I've been writing and releasing shooty games since 2005, including Irukandji, Bullet Candy, and - most recently - Scoregasm. I'm here to talk about my latest super amazing game Son of Scoregasm, which is coming to PS Vita very soon.

In Son of Scoregasm I've tried to create something slick, varied, challenging, and fun that plays really well on Vita. The game is a sequel to Scoregasm, which was released in 2011, and in essence is a refinement of that game, taking the best bits and improving the rest.

Son of Scoregasm is a twin stick shooter, though not in the typical survival style. Instead, the game is comprised of a series of interlinked levels that you progress through in a non-linear style. What this means is that there are multiple paths through the game, ranging from fairly easy routes to some that are pretty hardcore.

The levels themselves are designed to be different, and there's a real variety of enemies, traps, and bosses for you overcome as you explore the game and find all the exits.

In Son of Scoregasm, the pulse attack is a really helpful, close-range pulse...

Rain Games: Teslagrad on PS3 & PS Vita: The Secrets of Magnetism

50°
27w ago - Today Eduardo Garabito of Rain Games announced that Teslagrad is hitting PS3 and PS Vita this year with some Secrets of Magnetism detailed below.

To quote: Hi! We've wanted to write this piece for a long time. It's been great to announce Teslagrad for PS3 and PS Vita coming this year, and it's also wonderful to have this opportunity to present our game in detail.

Let's suppose that the question here is simply "Hey, what's Teslagrad about?" We've had to answer that question many, many times, and we have our response down to a science:

Teslagrad is a puzzle platformer with action elements, where magnetism and other electromagnetic powers are the key to go throughout the game, and thereby discover the secrets kept in the long abandoned Tesla Tower.

That's quite the statement. How did you like it? It's like a mantra. We just can't recall how many times we've said and/or written that. And that's why we're looking forward to this post. Now we can go into more detail. So, Teslagrad is...

Magnetism: Magnets, we know how they work! Electromagnetic forces are the lifeblood of the game, either acting as a magnetic elevator or as part of teslamancer weaponry (just to pick a couple of the many examples). Magnetic interaction allows you to not only play around as much as you...
