103w ago - Sony's European Product Manager Mayumi Donovan has confirmed today that the PSP Comic Store is coming to a close in October.

Below are the details, to quote: Hi everyone, we have some sad news for our PSP fans, especially those who have enjoyed all the great comics available from PSN Comic Store.

From the 30th Ocotober 2012 you will no longer be able to download new content from the Digital Comics store.

Those of you who have previously downloaded content you can still enjoy it and why not stock up before it closes at the end of October?

From mid January you will not be able to re-download your previously purchased comic content. You can, however back up your content using [Register or Login to view links].

We apologise to fans for the change and thank you for your support of the Comic Store for PSP.

PSP Comic Store Aims at 500 Comics for Launch in December

251w ago - Sony has promised a selection of more than 500 comics when its PSP Comic Store arrives in mid-December.

Comic publishers pledging support so far are Marvel (Astonishing X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, The Amazing Spider-Man), 2000AD (Judge Dredd, Durham Red), Disney (Mickey Mouse, Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck) and IDW (Astro Boy, Transformers, Star Trek, Wormwood).

Less well-known outfits Insomnia (Burke & Hare, Cages, Cancer Town), iVerse (responsible for Ape Entertainment, Archie Comics, Dabel Brothers, Image & Red 5 content) and Titan (Wallace & Gromit) are also on-board.

Sony's Digital Comics Reader, the application you'll need to read with, will flick through pages and zoom and pan with ease. It is already available, and Sony suggests downloading the latest PSP firmware and installing this to be prepared.

Sony Considers Adding Downloadable Comic Books to PSP Store

350°
288w ago - Sony has been querying the gaming community on the viability of a possible Comic Book reader and download service for their PSP.

To quote: Surveys were sent out with the following video (see below) attached.

Though the online "comic shop" is new, viewing comics on your PSP is old hat and rather frustrating, though not nearly as much as trying to read web pages on it. What this service/function needs is an auto "frame go-to and re-sizer". Perhaps it has one, but I couldn't gleem one from the video.

I say it every time when there's a PSP story and I'm saying it again,... stop adding stupid stuff to the PSP when all I really want is a second analog stick!
