Sony Updates PSN Terms of Service to Reflect PS3 3D Gaming

211w ago - Just a few weeks back Sony revised their PSN Terms of Service for PlayStation Plus, and this weekend Examiner.com (linked above) reports that the PlayStation Network TOS have been updated once again to reflect PS3 3D gaming.

According to Forum user TheShroomster, Sony is also sending out the new Terms via e-mail for registered users to review.

To quote from Sony's [Register or Login to view links] on the change:

213w ago - A few months back Sony updated their PSN TOS/User Agreement presumably due to the PS3 OtherOS removal, and today TheSixthAxis.com (linked above) spotted another update that pertains to the upcoming PlayStation Plus service which arrives next week.

When you hop online with your PlayStation 3 or PSP console next, the PSN Terms of Service update you will be asked to agree to states Type 2 content (outlined below) may be unavailable if you don't renew your subscription immediately at the end of each period.

Essentially this means your PSN and PS1 games, PS3 and PSP Minis and PlayStation 3 downloadable content may become inaccessible if you don't keep your subscription current.

To quote: "There are two types of Subscriber based downloadable content, split neatly into those that you can re-download after your subscription ends and those that you can't.

Type 1: Premium Avatars and Themes, which, so long as you download when originally available you can re-download...

PSN EU Terms of Service Updated, Only Three Activations Allowed

243w ago - Update: According to [Register or Login to view links], SCEE's Community Team Leader MusterBuster [Register or Login to view links] this is a typo, to quote: "This is a typo - the number of activated consoles is STILL 5. You should receive an updated email within the next few days."

Several months ago Sony sent out a warning to those involved in PSN game sharing, and recently the European PlayStation Network Terms of Service (linked above) has been updated to reflect this.

Although the [Register or Login to view links] still state that "You can download the title to up to 5 different PLAYSTATION 3 systems" the EU counterpart now states only three, to quote:

•In-game items or content that you have purchased may be downloaded from PlayStation Store. Pursuant to the particular terms of use that govern a specific in-game item or content you have purchased, you may use that...
