Video: PS3 Action RPG Of Orcs and Men Hits PSN This Tuesday

50°
103w ago - Cyanide Producer Sylvain Sechi has shared a video trailer today announcing that the PS3 action RPG Of Orcs and Men is hitting PSN this Tuesday.

To quote: Hi PlayStation players, this is Sylvain from [Register or Login to view links]. I'm here to give you an introduction to the world of Greenskins and humans.

Of Orcs and Men is an action RPG, taking place in a dark and mature universe where Greenskins (orcs and goblins) have finally been defeated after a long war against the human kingdom.

The emperor has decided that, in order to prevent any further war against the Greenskins, it's best to just commit full-on genocide - unfortunately for you, you'll be controlling an orc and a goblin.

As the game starts, Arkail (the massive orc) and Styx (the stealthy goblin) are among the last of their race still alive. They are sent on a suicide mission - to reach the land of the humans and assassinate the Emperor, thus stopping the massacre and enslavement of greenskins.

Originally, while playing with the prototype, we enjoyed controlling Styx and Arkail individually, but even more, we liked the combinations they could have. We kept improving features to make them as unique as possible, but we also worked on tandem attacks for use in combat (like throwing...

Video: New NIS RPG Legasista is Coming to PSN Tomorrow

300°
110w ago - NIS America Marketing Coordinator Ryan Phillips confirmed today alongside a fresh video trailer that the new NIS RPG Legasista is coming to PSN tomorrow.

To quote: I hope everyone has been having a great summer! Ryan from [Register or Login to view links] here, dropping by to talk about Legasista's release tomorrow exclusively on PlayStation Network!

For those unfamiliar with Legasista, it's an action/survival RPG developed by Nippon Ichi Software, Inc. and System Prisma (ClaDun and ClaDun x2). We wanted to talk a bit more in-depth about some of the game characters, features, and more - so here we go!

First off, I'm sure a lot of you are wondering about the origins of the name Legasista. Well, the name is derived from combining the words legacy and sister.

You see, the main character, Alto, is looking for a way to save his sister, who was turned into a crystal by a curse. He discovers that the artifact that can do it lies in a ruin called the Ivy Tower.

While searching the tower, he meets Melize (an ancient weapon), Leina and Shout (a witch and another ancient weapon that was rebuilt from junk parts), Mimily (a dragon-human hybrid), and Volks (a justice-loving thief).

Legendary RPG Alundra Ventures Into PSN Store PS One Classics

50°
111w ago - Gaijinworks President Victor Ireland has announced today that the Legendary RPG Alundra is venturing into the PSN Store under PS One Classics!

To quote: I remember being at Tokyo Game Show the first time I saw Alundra. It was in the Sony booth on a single monitor in line with a number of other titles, with little signage.

There wasn't even an attendant managing the area. Important games often have multiple monitors, lots of signage and possibly special happenings as well as a person assigned to work the area, answer questions, help with gameplay, etc. Alundra had none of that.

The presentation at that Tokyo Game show was a metaphor for the game itself - confident, yet unassuming. But appearances can be deceptive - and that was never truer than with Alundra.

I knew what I was looking at the moment I laid eyes on it. I let out a little gasp - OMG, is... is that a new Landstalker game? The look of the main character and the isometric perspective was unmistakable.

I could scarcely believe it was what I thought it was. I tracked down someone to help me in the best Japanese I could muster. They kindly got me in touch with one of the staff working on the title.

"Is this a Landstalker sequel?" I asked, barely able to hide my excitement. No,...

Video: New PSN RPG Rainbow Moon's Weapon Crafting System

50°
118w ago - SideQuest Studios CEO Marcus Pukropski has detailed the Weapon Crafting System for the new PSN RPG Rainbow Moon in a video (below) today for fans.

To quote: Less than two weeks until our new RPG Rainbow Moon hits PlayStation Store!

Today, we're going to share more details with you, along with another entry from our Dev Diary video series.

Previously, we talked about Rainbow Moon's battle system and the game's character development system. Now I'm going to tell you more about all the weapons and equipment that you can acquire in Rainbow Moon, as well as how to improve them through the crafting system.

The six characters that you'll come across during your journey can be equipped with five different equipment types: weapons, hats, body armor, amulets and rings.

All these items have their own attributes, and some even have built-in passive skills or conditions. In true RPG fashion, equipping better gear will make your characters more powerful during battles.

You'll start your adventure with very basic gear – just enough to take on the game's weaker creatures. As you progress through the story, you'll be able to purchase new gear from merchants. And if you're...
