105w ago - Today Sony's associate brand marketing manager Crystal MacKenzie has confirmed that PS Vita PSN accounts are linked to the handheld's memory cards and not the device itself for those wondering.
Essentially this means those who like bringing their gamer profile and downloadable games over to a friends house to show them off will probably like the PlayStation Vita since the PSN accounts are bonded to the memory card they're downloaded to.
To quote from GameInformer.com (linked above): "Your PSN ID is bonded to your memory card and your memory card is bonded to your Vita," Sony associate brand marketing manager Crystal MacKenzie told Wired.
"So if you wanted to change different PSN users but use the same memory card, you would need to go factory reset."
So accessing your PSN account and games is as easy as swapping out the memory card they're installed on. Sounds simple enough. If you have too much media for one of Sony's spendy storage devices, you can have your PSN account linked to multiple memory cards.
One question I have is how often do you think you'll be swapping out memory...
226w ago - Today a Best Buy listing for PlayStation Network Cards appears to reveal that $10 PSN Cards are coming soon to PlayStation 3 and PSP owners.
No word yet on whether they will also hit Europe, however, US buyers can currently add them to their carts for $10 each.
To quote: Looks like the $10 PSN cards are real, and coming soon.
Currently only $20 and $50 PSN cards are readily available for purchase, but soon enough the $10 cards will make their way to store shelves, while giving everyone a more affordable choice to reward or gift that gamer in your life.
228w ago - Several sites are reporting a rumor today that PSN Cards will finally be coming to Europe on October 1, 2009.
To quote: October 1st will be an important day for Sony. With the launch of the PSP Go and the much-awaited Gran Turismo PSP already confirmed for that day, now it's been reported that the same day what European PSN users have been clamoring for years will be finally released: PSN pre-paid cards.
While we're labeling this as rumor since it hasn't been officially confirmed yet, the timing of release makes it seem very likely, given that the download-only PSP Go launches on the same day, it makes sense for pre-paid cards to accompany it.
We'll keep you informed when Sony finally confirms the rumor.
