With the release of PlayStation Portable Firmware 5.00 yesterday, PSP hacker Dark_AleX has made available PSARDumper for 5.00 Decryption.

Download: PSP PSARDumper for 5.00 / PSP PSARDumper for 5.00 [Mirror]

From the ReadMe file: This is psardumper for 5.00. The table format has changed due to the inclusion of PSP3000.

Note: psp3000 modules cannot be decrypted yet, not even their names. The keys for the filenams table are in mesg_led03.prx of psp3000 which we cannot access yet. Additionally the keys for the modules themselves are in the ipl o psp3000 which cannot yet be accessed.

Due to that, you will see various warnings about "could not find path of XXXXX", just ignore that.

Red Squirrel has updated his PSAR Dumper for PSP today to v2.2!

Download: RS PSAR Dumper v2.2 for PSP

To quote: This is my new update to RS PSAR Dumper. The changelog is very simple: ADDED COMPATIBILITY FOR 3.90 EBOOT!

Note: I want to remember to you that to make RS PSAR Dumper compatible with 3.80-3.90 EBOOTs you need pspdecrypt.prx taken from 3.80 PSAR Dumper by HelldashX.

Dark_AleX has examined PSP firmware v3.80 changes, and here are the results:

They now know that with Pandora, we can always access the flash, so they've focused on locking down the PSAR and changing the format of the files/flash. Just more tactics to slow down decryption, but it won't work.

They have only changed the keys of the tables of filenames. The prx's keys are the same than in 3.7X.

However, there is a little surprise in a form of new compression algorithm called KL4E, this time sysmem and loadcore are also compressed. Plus... again new nids.

So it would seem as if the newly-released PSP firmware v3.80 has already been dumped and decrypted. Only time will tell is Alex will release an update to M33 CFW or make users wait longer.

3.80 module list and decryption info below:

Only a example, the offsets for show another version in 3.71 are:

- 0x12B38
- 0x12B3C

In 3.7... More »

Red_Squirrel has released modified version of Dark_Alex's PopsLoader which is now compatible with the brand new PSP firmware v3.73.

Download: PSP 3.73 PopsLoader

Installation:
The same of original POPSLoader. To obtain 3.73 prxs you can use RSPsar Dumper (or M33Psar Dumper). PRXs must be decrypted, so you need to use SQUARE option in Psar Dumper.
Necessary PRXs are the same of 3.72 pops, so: popsman.prx, pops.prx, libpspvmc.prx e pafmini.prx.

Later you need to insert PRXs in /SEPLUGINS/POPSLOADER as popsman373.prx, pops373.prx, libpspvmc373.prx and pafmini373.prx. At the end you need to overwrite original PopsLoader.prx with the one contained in the package.

A new PSP Firmware Update is now available via Network Update and linked below. Thus far, only one familiar change is listed in the changelog:

  • Support for PLAYSTATION Network titles has been expanded

Download: PSP Firmware v3.73 (US) / PSP Firmware v3.73 (EU)

Not an exciting update, although it means more PSN titles for PSP are forthcoming which will likely require Firmware 3.73. Additionally, Service Mode has been confirmed as working and PSAR Dumper decrypts everything for those wondering.

  • Today M33 have decrypted v3.71 Firmware, and below are the details from their PSAR Dumper update:

Download: PSARDumper v3.7x [Archive Pass: PSARDUMPER_FOR_NEW_AGE]

This is a recode of psardumper for 2.XX & 3.XX kernels.

If you are in a cfw of the fat psp, be sure to put it in GAME3XX or in GAME if you have it configured for 3.XX kernel.

Support for 3.7X decryption has also been added.

The instructions are same as for original psardumper, except that you don't need the DATA.PSAR in the root of memory stick, but instead the EBOOT.PBP; this is to make it more noobs-friendly and lazy-friendly.
