Design

DUALSHOCK 4 adopts the familiar form factor of the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller with some key enhancements:

Motion control is enabled by a new highly sensitive six-axis sensor
Dual analog sticks fine-tuned for better precision plus improved surface materials and shape for more delicate manipulation
L2/R2 buttons on the top of the controller employ a curved design for easier, smoother interaction

14w ago - Not long after the rumored PS4 controller and PS4 camera patent information surfaced, today some more details on Sony's rumored PlayStation 4 / Orbis Controller Prototype (SplitShock) have arrived with additional pictures attached.

To quote from Destructoid.com: "Update: Multiple sources have confirmed that the photo is real, but is an early prototype.

Remember when we told you of rumblings on the next PlayStation system's controller and how it might have a touchscreen? Well, get a look at this strange thing. This image looks like a PlayStation-style controller plugged into something that looks like a development kit.

17w ago - Following up on last week's PlayStation 4 rumors, today Kotaku (linked above) and Gematsu have revealed the rumored PS4 / Orbis final devkit specifications, touch pad controller details and new account system summary below.

We'll begin with the specs. And before we go any further, know that these are current specs for a PS4 development kit, not the final retail console itself. So while the general gist of the things you see here may be similar to what makes it into the actual commercial hardware, there's every chance some - if not all of it - changes, if only slightly.
