Rebel Galaxy PS4: A Backwater Universe on PlayStation 4 Detailed

50°
2d ago - Double Damage Games CEO and Developer Travis Baldree shared details today on Rebel Galaxy PS4, which is dubbed a backwater universe on PlayStation 4.

To quote: I love space games. And for a long time, it's been tough out there for people like me. Almost overnight though, it seems we've turned a corner.

Elite: Dangerous is more awesome with every build, Star Citizen is breaking records, No Man's Sky is gorgeous and surreal, and Enemy Starfighter looks amazing. I can't wait to play all of them!

Now Double Damage is throwing our hat in the, ring too, but with something very different. We wanted to build a swashbuckling space game, one filled with weird aliens, backwater bartenders, lawless pirates, and epic space battles. A game with a galaxy to explore, characters to befriend or enrage, and the random element that's been in so many of the games we've worked on.

Rebel Galaxy isn't set in a shiny, modern future - it's a greasy, rusty place on the edge of the known universe, where the ships are barely holding it together, and the people are, too. It's a sandbox galaxy where you play the character you want.

Are you a devious mercenary, collecting bounties? A crafty trader who hires protection wherever she goes? A pirate, preying on convoys? A roguish do-gooder? Maybe...

2d ago - Flippfly Co-founder Forest San Filippo posted up a Labyrinthia reveal video trailer today of Race the Sun which is due out Tuesday on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: It was back in March when we announced that [Register or Login to view links] would be coming to PlayStation, and we've been working hard on the game ever since.

Today we are pumped to announce that the game is finally ready and will land on October 21st!

We really wanted things to feel great on every platform, so we've spent a lot of time refining the experience on each system. The result is that we have the game running at a full 60fps (at 1080p resolution) on both PS3 and PS4, and PS Vita is also looking and feeling great.

We have implemented cross-save and shared leaderboards on all supported platforms because we wanted to make the setup perfect for challenging friends to a highscore contest.

If you aren't familiar with Race the Sun, here are a few things your should know:

• Race the Sun is all about speed and survival
• You play as a solar-powered craft that...

PS4 System Software 2.00 Preview - USB Music Player, Details

700°
3d ago - Sony Product Planning and Software Innovation Director Scott McCarthy shared a preview of PS4 System Software 2.00 today, which features a USB Music Player, new Home Screen colors and more with screenshots and details below!

To quote: You may already know that PS4's upcoming system software 2.00, codenamed Masamune, adds some big features including Share Play, YouTube support, and Themes - but the updates don't end there.

I have personally stated in past blog posts that we listen to our fans. PlayStation has heard gamers when they say they want more ways to find friends to play with, and more ways to personalize their PS4.

With this update, we've added a Players You May Know tile, the ability to listen to your music while gaming, the option to change the look of your PS4 experience, and easier ways to sort and filter your library of content on PS4.

PS4 has been on sale for almost a year and we're committed to improving the player experience in entirely new ways. As always, we welcome feedback as part of our...

Rumor: Minecraft PS4, PS3, PS Vita Full Version Free Due to PSN Glitch?

400°
3d ago - According to rumors today, many users (mostly European) are reporting that they were able to download and play a Minecraft PS4, PS3 and PS Vita full version for free due to a PSN glitch.

Below are the details, to quote: "European PlayStation users are currently able to get their hands on the PS3 and PS Vita versions of Minecraft for the grand cost of…nothing!

However, it’s not an intentional giveaway by Sony, it seems to be a glitch within the online store. The glitch happens when you go to the PlayStation online store via a web browser and select the free demo and then continue to add the complete version to your cart, resulting in the full version going through as a sale when no money has changed hands.

I don’t think Sony will be best pleased to find people doing this, so do so at your own risk otherwise you may find your account suspended.

Microsoft recently purchased the studio behind Minecraft for a reported $2.5 billion dollars. It’s safe to say that the folks over at Microsoft HQ would not be all too happy with Sony giving away their most valuable product for nothing."

If anyone has tried this PlayStation Network glitch feel...

4d ago - Aksys Games Director of Production Frank "Bo" DeWindt II shared a video today announcing that Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- rocks PS4 and PS3 this December.

Below are the details, to quote: Hello friend and lovers of all things Aksys! It is your loyal and humble servant, Frank "Bo" deWindt II, Director of Production here at Aksys Games.

Today I bring to you joyous and momentous news in regards to our upcoming fighting game on PS4 and PS3, [Register or Login to view links].

But first, let me explain a little bit about the game for those that have no prior knowledge of the Guilty Gear series!

The series has been around since time immemorial (and by that, I mean for 16 years!). It's been redesigned from the world of 2D, to incorporate both 2D and 3D elements, making it a veritable feast for the eyes kind of experience, thanks to some technical Arc System Works magic and the Unreal 3 engine.

Thanks to that, 3D models have been fashioned to create the illusion of 2D sprites without anyone being the wiser.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- has also enhanced its fighting mechanics...
