133w ago - Earlier today the PS3Break PS3 Downgrader was announced, and now the x3Max Team has made available a video of their PS JailBreak clone PS3 modchip dongle in action running PlayStation 3 homebrew on Firmware 3.50 without downgrading!

138w ago - Normally we don't cover MAC stuff, however, today Marcello from PensieriDigitali.com (lupin4 on our site) let us know he has made available a guide detailing how to upgrade PS3Break firmware via MAC OSX (AT90USB162) for PS3 JailBreak users.

To quote: This procedure has been tested only with PS3Break 1.0 key (atmel chip) and do not guarantee that work with other key (in theory just change some parameters).

How to flash a PS3Break 1.0 with MAC OSX:

New method (thanks to ScotthishCpt) with this procedure you do not install anything because ScotthishCpt built a self-contained SDK, and when you're done, just unmount the disk image without trace or driver in the system.

1) Download from HERE the modified version of Avr8_sdk.
2) Double click on (AVR8_SDK.dmg) and mount the volume (avr8_sdk).
3) Browse to Applications directory in the volume.
4) Launch SDK TERMINAL.
5) At this time insert the PS3Break key in the usb port in DFU mode (click the upgrade button immediately after it's inserted).

139w ago - Here is my PS3Break v1.1 PS JailBreak clone PS3 modchip review, which I got from www.PS3Break.com (linked above).

Shipping info:

The package was sent with DHL Express mail. Which means it can be all over the world in just 3-5 business days. The box was sealed with a lot of tape and the content comments were a little funny:

• 1x USB card reader PHAT usb

The package came through the customs without being opened or withdrawn. Payment is via CC and Paypal. If I have to believe were it is shipping from it comes from Hong Kong.

So I would say shipping is a big 9/10.

The box around the PS3Break looks very similar to the PSJailbreak box. The sticker says PS3Break V1.1 (was the newest version, there is a version 1.2 coming soon!). There is also a "truth inquiry" sticker. There is a code on it and when I check it on the website it should say LEGIT.

When you open the box you'll find the PS3Break + a strap. It comes without any guaranty/manual enclosed. The manual can be found on the website.

145w ago - Earlier today we reported on the PSJailBreaker clone, with another surfacing now dubbed the PS3Break PS3 modchip alongside a video, and the PS3Key team have posted a few internal pictures of their upcoming PlayStation 3 modchip as well.

In what appears to be a battle of the clones, the x3JailBreak clone team have stated the PS3Break clone is fake, to quote:

"Today, we have seen online on many websites are talking about ps3break.com. This team is sending our fake email and saying it is our new x3 brand. This is not true and we are not associated to ps3break.com at all. Any orders that come from this website, we will not support it!"
