23w ago - Recently Kotaku (via Sang of RRA) reported news that a new PS3 SuperSlim Model CECH-4200 alongside it's Asia counterparts CECH-4205B and CECH-4205C are expected to arrive soon.
Below are the details, to quote: "In South Korea, Sony just filed for certification for two new PS3 models: CECH-4205B and CECH-4205C. As tipster Sang points out, these could be slightly modified versions of the "Super Slim PS3s" (model number CECH-4000, image above) with smaller nanometer architecture, less power consumption, and better cooling.
Earlier this month, new PS3 models also surfaced on a webpage for Japan's Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications. That listing was for "CECH-4200". The assumption is that the difference between "CECH-4200" and "CECH-4205" is regional for Japan and South Korea."
While pricing isn't confirmed yet, the upgraded flash memory PlayStation 3 consoles are expected to cost slightly more than the current generation models. Below are the details, to quote:

Sony's German PR chief Guido Alt commented that he knew nothing of the existence of such a console, when questioned by Gamereactor. But with Tokyo Game...
75w ago - Today Japanese site PocketNews (linked above) reports a new PS3 Slim model (CECH-4000 / CECH-4001x) has been spotted registered on the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) site.
While there is little information on the new SKU, the FCC ID is listed as AK8CBEH19C1 and rumors suggest the new PlayStation 3 model may feature a top-loading disc tray similar to the one on the PS2 Slim.
El33tOnline.com also points out that PS3 Firmware 4.20 slightly changed the wording on the XMB from 'Eject Disc' to 'Remove Disc' when you press Triangle to bring up a disc-based game's option menu.. stating, "Sony released a PS2 Super Slim in 2008 that featured an internal power supply and was lighter than the original Slim model."
To quote, roughly translated: "You think AK8CBEH19C1 is FCC ID, so CECH-4001x model number in North America, and appeared in the model number called CECH-4000B or CECH-4000A in the country.
