700°
178w ago - Awhile back we reported on a PS3 System File Editor followed by a Linux Edition, and today [Register or Login to view links] has made available his own version of a PS3 PARAM.SFO Editor homebrew application.

Download: PS3 PARAM.SFO Editor v1.0.0.0

To quote: I decided to fully research the PARAM.SFO file and make a tool to edit any aspect of it.

And it seems to work really well as far as reading/writing, although I don't have a PS3 to test the saves...

So if anyone experiences a problem then give me all the details...

How to use:

1) Open a PARAM.SFO file in the editor.
2) Right-Click to edit, then save.

Finally, in related news $n!pR has released a similar application dubbed [Register or Login to view links] (sfoprint - V1.00b.zip) followed by [Register or Login to view links] (sfoprint - V1.00c.zip)...

198w ago - Today Red Squirrel from Italian site PSP-Cheats.it (linked above) has released PS3 SFO Editor Linux Edition v1.0.0 for those who prefer not to use the previously released Homebrewed PS3 System File Editor v0.80 Windows version, followed shortly by a GUI version.

Download: PS3 SFO Editor Linux Edition v1.0.0 / PS3 SFO Editor GUI Linux Edition v1.0.0

From the ReadMe file:

What's it?

It's a Linux GUI to view and edit PS3's PARAM.SFO files. It does NOT contain any Sony's code or function, so it's a free homebrew at 100%. With the easy GUI you will can edit all PARAM.SFO parameters in just a moment, then the program will convert your choises automatically and it will write them in a new PARAM.SFO.

Disclaimer

This is the first public release of this program and even if many deep tests have been made maybe there are yet some bugs. Use it at your own risk....

800°
247w ago - Update: As expected, it's now released! Download: Homebrewed PS3 System File Editor v0.80

According to RichDevX's Twitter (linked above), Hellcat plans to release an updated Homebrewed PS3 SFO Editor in approximately 48 hours.

This comes roughly two years after the PS3 BRDGen Team released a similar application dubbed SFO-Edit v1.0.

According to the pictures (below), the homebrew PS3 System File Editor v0.80 will attempt to reproduce the functionality that Sony's PS3Gen (ps3sys.exe specifically) offers for SFO extension files... allowing you to view, edit, and save PARAM.SFO files.

We will update this post when it's actually released of course.
