135w ago - Following up on the previous PlayStation 3 3.70 SDK and PhyreEngine leaks, today an anonymous user under the handle ravi_h_m17 has uploaded the Sony PS3 4.00 SDK files to the Chinese file-sharing site 4Shared-China.com and the NewsGroup alt.binaries.console.ps3.

PS3 SDK 3.41 Differences Comparison to PS3 SDK 1.92 Leak

196w ago - I wanted to give myself a summary of what's new in PS3 SDK 3.41 compared to PS3 SDK 1.92. diff proved to be less than helpful here, because of all the copyright and SDK version headers that changed.

So I put together a simple program to filter the diff results. It stripped almost 150K from the diff of the SPU headers, and nearly 300K from the diff of the PPU headers (approximately 25%). It should also be possible to use this exact same program to filter comparisons on any future incomplete SDK leaks.

I'm hopeful this can be helpful for other developers, so I'm sharing my diffs and the program to create and filter them. The zip contains the following files:

  • Makefile
  • build_diffs.sh
  • diff_filter.cpp
  • spu_differences.txt
  • ppu_differences.txt

To create your own SDK diffs, modify build_diffs.sh to point to whichever two SDKs you want to compare, then run make && sh...
 

PS3 SDK 1.92 Leaked, Guides Now Available on How to Set It Up

209w ago - It's been several years since the last PlayStation 3 SDK leak, and today the PS3 SDK version 1.92 has leaked publicly with some guides already available on how to set it up for budding developers to begin creating some fresh PS3 homebrew to use with the recent PS3 JailBreak exploit.

A few weeks ago Sony's PS3 Blu-ray and Service Manuals were leaked, and today the full PS3 v1.92 SDK is available which includes the required compiler and toolchain for those who do not wish to wait for development of the Open Source PS3 Toolchain to be completed.
