Video: ES35's Customize v0.1 Arrives, Customize PS3 RCO Files

182w ago - This weekend Emerson35 shared a video and release on his blog of ES35's Customize v0.1 for PlayStation 3 Custom Firmware, which allows users to customize PS3 RCO files.

RCOs are a bunch of xml files encrypted together, you can mod these with [Register or Login to view links] and make custom strings on your xmb.

RAFs are Video files. the only one that is a raf is coldboot.raf, which is the boot logo. Can be made with ColdBoot Maker. Tutorial Here.

AC3s are of course audio files, which is the boot sound.

I might make a tutorial on modding RCOs for noobs if i receive some positive feedback.

CUSTOMIZE

To Customize

1. put flash drive into computer and make the folder structure of customize/modz(example F:/customize/modz)
2. put all your customized files in that folder.
3. make sure all the names of the files are the same as the orginal(case sesitive)

232w ago - Update: [Register or Login to view links] has now updated [Register or Login to view links]'s Windows [Register or Login to view links] utility to RCOMage v1.1.1 for Linux users.

A couple days back ZiNgA BuRgA released RCOMage v1.1.0, which allows you to dump any RCO (localized resource) file from both PS3 and PSP Firmware followed by version 1.1.1b.

Break the RCO on down and customize text strings, audio, and graphics to your liking and then recompile the modified resources and you've just created yourself a PS3 Custom Theme!
