210w ago - SCEE Blog Manager James Gallagher has shared a fresh PlayStation Move PS3 motion controller tech demo video today.

To quote: While some of you already have the new PlayStation Move motion controller in your hands and others are just hours away, it seems a good time to post this tech demo from Move's inventor, Dr Richard Marks.

I particularly like the sculpting part and I really hope this makes it's way into a game one day as a weapon customisation tool.

I hope you're enjoying Move so far, those of you that have your hands on it.

In case you missed it, here's a video interview I shot with Richard when he visited London a couple of months ago.

Video: Fresh PlayStation Move PS3 Tech Demo from NYC Event

218w ago - For those who'd like to see how the development of Sony's PlayStation Move PS3 motion controller has progressed since E3 2010, today DualShockers (linked above) have shared a fresh tech demo from SCEA's recent NYC media event.

To quote: "Yesterday we were fortunate enough to hang out with our buddy Anton Mikailov from SCEA at Sony's Holiday media preview event in NYC.

We caught up with Anton and the PS Move a while back, and although he had some cool stuff to show us last time around, this time I was absolutely floored.

Anton showcased some never before seen PS Move tech demos; the same demos that are being shown to 3rd party developers and publishers in order to showcase what the PS Move is all about.

The first demo in the clip, is one you may have seen but just wait until you see the "chameleon" and "Rts" demos. Just think about all of the potential. Amazing is the only way to describe it."

Video: PlayStation Move E3 2010 Sony PS3 Tech Demo Arrives

223w ago - Today IGN has posted up a PlayStation Move Sony PS3 tech demo from E3 2010 which can be seen below alongside a Kung Fu Rider PlayStation Move video.

As recently revealed, the PlayStation Move motion controller features an orb at the head which can glow in any of a full range of colors using RGB light-emitting diodes (LEDs).

The colored light serves as an active marker, the position of which can be tracked along the image plane by the PlayStation Eye.

The uniform spherical shape and known size of the light also allows the system to simply determine the controller's distance from the PlayStation Eye through the light's image size, thus enabling the controller's position to be tracked in three dimensions with high precision and accuracy.

The sphere-based distance calculation allows the controller to operate with minimal processing latency, as opposed to other camera-based control techniques on the PlayStation 3.
