Destiny PS4 & PS3 Beta Begins July 17, 2014 - Calendar Revealed

To quote: Happy Bungie Day, PlayStation Nation. We're thrilled to share in our annual celebration of community among gamers with some exciting news about Destiny.

You've imagined yourselves in the boots of a Guardian, prowling the wild frontier in search of treasure and glory. The time for dreaming is almost over. The time to fight is at hand. The Destiny Beta is our chance to fill our brave new world with life and see how it holds up against the stampede.

• Beta Launch: July 17th - First on PlayStation platforms; [Register or Login to view links] on PlayStation Store for Beta access
• Maintenance: July 21st, 22nd
• Beta Rally: July 26th

Play when you can, but make sure you're present to be counted on July 26th. Not only are we hoping to leave a high watermark for population on that day, we'll also provide a special reward to those of you who make an appearance in the Tower... or in the frontiers beyond its walls.

10w ago - Following up on the leaked PlayStation Now Beta UI, loading times and rumored PS3 game support followed by Sony's official announcement, today an updated Beta game list arrives alongside a PS3 game lineup update and confirmation that PlayStation Now PS3 codes work on PS4 below.

18w ago - Following up on his previous release, today PlayStation 3 homebrew developer SvenGDK has made available XMBPC v3 Beta followed by details on v3.0.1 with the changelogs outlined below.

  • Changed back to beta (Read why: twitlonger.com/show/n_1s142gp or below)
  • Completely new fullscreen setup
  • You can now protect XMBPC with a password (will get updates with a lockscreen)
  • Updated emulators, now detecting if x32 or x64 to have a better performance
  • Fixed: No Games showing
  • Other minor fixes

37w ago - Bungie Community Manager DeeJ announced today alongside a video trailer that the upcoming Destiny Beta will be available first on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4!

To quote: What's up, PlayStation Nation? Heard any good news lately?

Everyone here at Bungie is thrilled to help ring in the next generation of gaming, and to celebrate the launch of the PlayStation 4.

Though we couldn't bring the entire studio to the launch event in NYC, we thought it was only right to deliver a little taste of in-engine footage. Check it out!





We also announced that the Destiny Beta will be available first on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. To reserve your seat, pre-order the game at select retailers.
