This application/tool will take your PS1 ISO or BIN/CUE game file(s) and create a PKG to install, This created PKG will now make that PS1 game direct boot from the XMB. This app uses the code and PS1 process from IrisManager and has modified/added some code to achieve the task of auto booting on the XMB.

350°
13w ago - Following up on the recent PS Vita Running PSX / PS1 Games news, today we have a few videos of how to play PSOne (PS1) game backups on an unmodded PS3 Super Slim console via hot-swapping.

From TheHUNTnKILL (aka D.T.A): PS3 HOT SWAP! PLAY PS1 ROMS ON PS3 SUPER SLIM

After lots of trial and error i've finally figured out how to play ps1 back ups on my ps3 super slim! its pretty easy just do what i did in the video. I figured this out myself!

Also from MaXsPoT: Playing PS1 Copy Games on Unmodded PS3 Super Slim - Disk Swap

Here is a video demonstration of playing copied Crash Bandicoot 3 PS1 game on unmodded PS3 super slim.

Here's a method of booting a copy of a PS1 game without modding the PS3 Super Slim. Just simple swapping.

Sorry for the bad quality, there was something wrong with the camera's settings.

How to do this trick:

1- You need an original PS1 game that has the same region of the PS3.
2- A copy PS1 game with the same region as the PS3.
3- Putting some thing (piece of cardboard) to press the things that make...

Video: PS Vita Running PSX / PS1 Games with eCFW TN-C Demo

550°
27w ago - Following up on their previous update, today The_Z has shared a PlayStation Vita demo video and guide on running PSX / PS1 games at full speed (with no sound) via eCFW TN-C on Sony PS Vita Firmware 2.01 below.

Download: PSX Add-on for eCFW 6.60 TN-C / PSX Add-on for eCFW 6.60 TN-C (Mirror)

To quote: In this video I show you that its possible to run PS1 games at the TN-C CFW. This is also working at the lower firmwares, you don't need the upcoming 2.01 exploit for it.

Just put the 2 PRX files into your exploit savegame folder and PSX (PS1) games should be working from the TNMenu. Other menues arent tested yet.

This should be working with every TN-C release for the PS Vita. The PS Vitas OFW shouldnt be important, it should be working for 1.6x, 1.80, 1.81 and 2.0x firmwares (avaible soon).

Greetings The Z

The Legend of Dragoon: PS1 RPG Classic Reborn May 1st on PSN

300°
62w ago - SCE Worldwide Studios President Shu Yoshida has announced today that the PS1 RPG classic The Legend of Dragoon is coming to PSN on May 1, 2012.

To quote: The Legend of Dragoon was one of the last projects I worked on as a producer in Japan Studio and by far the biggest team I managed hands-on.

We started the project in 1996 with only a handful of people, hired one by one as we were building up teams for Ape Escape, The Legend of Dragoon, and Ico simultaneously. During the peak of the game's development, we had well over 100 people working internally in the studio on The Legend of Dragoon - for a PSone game!

We had roughly 10 artists dedicated just to drawing concept art for this gigantic RPG. As the game contained lots of pre-rendered maps and full-motion videos, we were forced to spread the content over four CDs, which was the maximum number of discs that the fattest PSone game case could hold.

It took nearly three years to build the team and develop the game, which was released in December 1999 in Japan and June 2000 in the US. As I moved from Japan to the US in March 2000, I was able to personally handle the game's release in both Japan and the US.

Following the game's launch in Japan, we learned from players that certain parts of the game were too difficult....
