Video: Metrico on PS Vita Dated, New PlayStation Vita Trailer Out

50°
6d ago - Digital Dreams Level Designer Roy van de Mortel confirmed today alongside a PlayStation Vita video trailer that Metrico on PS Vita arrives on August 5, 2014.

To quote: Hi fellow PlayStation enthusiasts! We're finally ramping up to the release of our first big title, the infographics action game [Register or Login to view links]. We got loads of questions during development, which we are really excited to finally answer in this blog post!

One of the most frequently asked question is; when is Metrico coming out? We're proud to announce that Metrico will be available on PlayStation Network August 5th in the US, exclusively on PS Vita!

Another frequent question was: "Who did the awesome music?" You're in the right place to find out as well! But the most frequent question was the request for Metrico gameplay footage. We want to start this post by giving you exactly that:

Showing Metrico gameplay

The main reason we took such a long time to show gameplay footage is because we always felt the main mechanics of Metrico are quite tricky to explain through video. We never got around to solving this, even though this is probably a recurring issue for novel game concepts.

Video: New Velocity 2X PS4 / PS Vita Trailer Update: So Far, So Good

24w ago - FuturLab Managing Director James Marsden is here with a new Velocity 2X PS4 / PS Vita trailer update which he states is coming along so far, so good!

To quote: Hi folks. Today I'm here to reveal a brand new video showing alpha footage of Velocity 2X; to talk through some of the things we've been working towards; and to outline what we're going to be adding next!

First, the video:

It's starting to look the part, but there's still a lot to do. The major thing left to do is improve the animation on the player character Lt. Kai Tana. We're working on that right now.

The art style

One of the major influences for Velocity 2X was the art style of Flashback on the Amiga. For those of you too young to have played Flashback (poor you, play the original!), it was a stunning visual achievement, using rotoscoped animation and a simple yet stylish art style to create a highly atmospheric experience. 12-year-old me fell in love with it.

Artistically speaking, we wanted Velocity 2X to be the spiritual successor to Flashback (and indeed Another World), and also to create a level of atmosphere and production value that is rarely seen in 2D games.

Video: Atomic Ninjas on PS3 and PS Vita: First Gameplay Trailer

200°
52w ago - Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska posted up the first gameplay trailer below today for Atomic Ninjas on both PS3 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: This is Jakub from Grip Games. A few weeks ago, I introduced you to our newest creation - Atomic Ninjas, for PS3 and PS Vita. I'm back with the very first gameplay trailer, to show you exactly what Atomic Ninjas is all about!

This 2.5D competitive shooter/platformer is going to be one of the most insane experiences you'll ever have with your PS3 and PS Vita! You'll fight in arenas full of danger against crazed ninjas in intense and funny matches. In order to win, you'll have to outsmart and outflank your opponents.

As you can see in the trailer, you cannot directly kill other ninjas (thanks to massive amounts of radiation and their healthy lifestyle). But there are dozens of conveniently placed hazards, like lasers, lava pits and fire that will do the job! You just need to find a way to get your opponents there and not become a roasted turkey yourself!

To help you in this uneasy task, we have added lots of weapons and super abilities. You'll be able to become invisible, fly on a rocket, use telekinesis, become an unstoppable hulk for a few moments, and many...

Video: Hohokum Unveils E3 2013 Trailer for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita

58w ago - Co-creator Richard Hogg made available a video from E3 2013 today unveiling Hohokum for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita platforms below.

To quote: Hello there! It has been about a month since we announced that Hohokum will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita next year.

At the time I mentioned that we would have some gameplay footage coming soon... and here it is! It features lots of new gameplay footage as well as a close look at some of the characters from the game.

These bits were fun to make as they bring together lots of characters who never actually meet in the game. They seem to be getting on ok though, particularly Brollygirl and the oil-can guy. Gonna have to watch those two.

If you missed our previous announcement, Hohokum is a colorful, charming and whimsical game made by myself, [Register or Login to view links] (I am an artist and illustrator) and [Register or Login to view links], a London based game studio. It was an IGF and IndieCade finalist in 2011.

Hohokum will be playable at E3 in a few different locations including the PlayStation booth and the marvelous IndieCade booth. Look forward to seeing a bit more about Hohokum coming...

50°
77w ago - Sony Community Manager James Spafford has posted up a fresh Tearaway: Welcome to Sogport PS Vita trailer video today with details below.

To quote: It's been a little while since we updated you on our progress making Tearaway, but that all changes today!

We recently showed some new parts of the game to members of the gaming press, and their previews and coverage of that should start appearing today across the Web. We introduced them to an area of the game we've been working on for quite some time, and today we'd like you to see it too!

Just one of the stops you'll make as you go on your delivery adventure in the world of Tearaway is Sogport, a mysterious island marooned in a deep sea of glue, and inhabited by some very fishy folk with a fearful obsession with the island's monstrous local wildlife. See for yourself...

Last August we introduced you to iota, and today we're really excited to introduce atoi (pronounced like the French phrase a'toi - "ah-twa" )

When you start your adventure, you'll be able to customize the game to your liking, choosing which messenger will accompany you on your journey, either iota or atoi, and also on the shape, size and color of your...
