1w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements made available a video today showcasing Rogue Legacy on PlayStation which focuses on building the Roguelike RPG below!

To quote: A dread memory hangs above your head. A haunted castle stands in your way. And your family has struggled for generations in the name of redemption and fortune.

In Rogue Legacy, players embark on a harrowing quest in a retro-style Roguelike, filled with brutal challenges and hundreds of upgrades. Rogue Legacy is coming to PS3, PS4, and PS Vita, with all the dark humor and alluring secrets that made it an indie hit on PC.

We spoke with Cellar Door Games Co-founder and Game Designer Teddy Lee about how the team built this addictive RPG, and why they approached the Roguelike in a new way. See below for the full interview, and Teddy's insight into the design process.

Kenny Lee, Teddy's brother and Cellar Door co-founder, also notes:

We hope you're as excited about the release of Rogue Legacy on PlayStation as we are. Releasing a game on consoles has always been a milestone and a bit of a dream for us, and we never would have taken that step forward without your support and enthusiasm.

It means a lot...

34w ago - Tama Games Producer Alan Crane shared a video today on the bubble-popping RPG Supermagical which is coming to both PS3 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: Hello everyone. My name is Alan Crane from Tama Games, and I am the producer of Supermagical, writing to you now here to tell you about our upcoming PSN title.

With Supermagical, we wanted to create a classic bubble-popping game and the traditional, yet with ever-so enticing RPG (Role Playing Game) elements.

You will be able to unlock mighty allies, level them up with awesome power-ups, create new spells, acquire special items to advance your abilities as well €" and the rest I€d like to save for you guys to find out!

If you are on the fence about this unorthodox combination of bubble-popping and RPG don€t fret. We wanted this to be a fun and memorable experience for everyone. Everyone involved in this game is a true gamer with a strong passion for making games that every gamer and non-gamer would enjoy playing.

We make sure the games we make are those we would enjoy playing ourselves. There are no big firms or big bags of cash exchanging hands here €" without mentioning any names, but there is more than one of us still indwelling the parent€s basement and working from there. We are doing this basically...

Video: Ragnarok Odyssey: Giant-Sized RPG Assaults PS Vita Today

77w ago - XSeed Games Production Assistant Brittany Avery has posted up a video today on Ragnarok Odyssey, a giant-sized RPG that is assaulting PS Vita today!

To quote: Are you ready, guys? Because right now it's Ragnarok Odyssey happy hour!

Or more like Happy Day, since today we celebrate the release of our precious PS Vita title. It's been a lengthy localization journey, but we're proud to bring out the Ragnarok Odyssey Standard Edition for $39.99, as well as the Mercenary Edition, which includes a meaty monster guide with artwork, a full soundtrack, and 10 randomized collectable monster cards out of over 50 for $49.99.

The game itself is the real star of the show, though. Think of it kind of like Monster Hunter or Gods Eater, but with more of a Norse mythology twist and a battle system that's all about knocking your enemies high into the air, then flying up after them and flinging them all over creation before slamming them back down into the hard dirt below.

It's a great game to pick up and play anytime, as you can just grab a quest...

116w ago - NIS America PR / Marketing Coordinator Nao Zook has announced today that Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention will be hitting the PS Vita this April and will be the handheld console's first RPG release.

To quote: Today, I would like to share our brand new trailer for Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention for the PlayStation Vita system. Disgaea 3 for the PS Vita will be released in April.

We are really excited about Disgaea 3 coming out on the PS Vita over here. Yes, it is a port of the PlayStation 3 version, but it will be equipped with new character stories, new systems, new attack levels, new bosses, and will include all the DLC that was released for the PS3 version, all on one card.

So even if you have already played Disgaea 3 on the PS3 system, you'll have something new to experience with this PS Vita version!

Of course, there will be some PS Vita specific systems integrated into the game, as well. For example, there is a system called "Honor Quotient," which uses the GPS to track how far you've traveled while playing the game. The more you travel, the higher your Honor Quotient will rise (you'll be able to increase your Honor Quotient by winning battles, increasing your total play time, and by other means as well).

With a high Honor Quotient, you will be able...
