To quote: Hi Everyone. Amongst all the excitement for the launch of PS4 and, of course, Killzone Shadowfall, here at Guerrilla Cambridge we've still been busily working away on Killzone Mercenary. We're now very pleased to announce that there will be a number of updates coming over the next few months.
First up is Update 3. In terms of functionality there will only be minimal changes, but this is the patch that reduces the size of the other patches! After installing this patch it will free up around 800MB of space for those who have already installed Updates 1 & 2. Update 3 should be ready in the next few weeks.
Update 4 is due in January and is being designed to improve Matching and to help reduce join-game connectivity problems, as well as adding an auto team-rebalancing feature.
Following that is the big one: Update 5. Two new multiplayer maps for FREE, and the release of offline Botzone for Mercenary and Guerrilla Warfare modes.

To quote: A week after Killzone Mercenary's launch, one of the great things to see is how so many different people play the game in so many different ways.
Looking at the stats I can see that the M82 and the silenced STA-52SE are the weapons of choice for a lot of people, each racking up 5M+ kills already, but digging deeper it's great to see that some of the other weapons are being wielded very effectively.
I'd expected my personal favourite - the STA-14 - to be topping the headshot charts, but it's actually being pipped at the post by the up close and personal touch of the silenced STA-18SE.
It seems there are a lot of you out there who really don't want to show up on the radar! No doubt those people have already bought the Infiltrator Armour as well.

The team here at Guerrilla Cambridge is expanding the multiplayer beta to give the servers a good test before Mercenary launches on September 10th in North America for PS Vita.
For North American users, the Open Beta for Killzone: Mercenary will be made available to PlayStation Plus subscribers on August 20th (after the Store update). Those of you who went out of your way to acquire special beta access vouchers - Perhaps through a certain promotion on PS Home? - will also be granted early access!
Then, on August 27th (after the Store update), the beta will open up further to become available to all North American PS Vita owners, coming to a close on September 3rd.

Candidates have until 2:00PM PDT on Wednesday, July 17th to sign up for the public's first look at Mercenary's impressive multiplayer package. If chosen to participate, you will receive an email with directions on how to get started.
Mercenary's multiplayer suite will provide players with a diverse range of weapons, grenades, armor, and special VAN-Guard devices enabling the player to customize their multiplayer load-out slots. Two years after the Helghast attack on Vekta, the ISA are taking the battle to Helghan, their fleet gathering above the capital Pyrrhus.
You are Arran Danner, a mercenary currently under contract to the ISA. Your mission is to infiltrate a battery of Arc cannons and direct their fire away from the ISA fleet, instead targeting the Helghast cruisers overhead and opening a way into the city. This is critical to enabling the invasion of Pyrrhus to begin in earnest.
The covert nature of your mission commences with a wing suit drop into the facility; the only way to avoid detection by Helghast surveillance. Once inside your objective is to locate and hack the systems controlling the Arc cannon battery and unleash its devastating power on the unsuspecting Helghast cruisers above.
This won't be an easy ride, the battery is heavily guarded and the security protocols protecting the control systems will require you to interface directly with them using your VAN-Guard, right under the nose of the garrisoned troops.
