To quote: In late 2009, I nervously sent Just Add Water's first PlayStation game, [Register or Login to view links], to PlayStation for submission on PS3.

Back then, the indie resurgence had barely started, and the idea that our retro flashback was about to appear on a major console was scary. We had some decent innovations in there, from the easy-to-use level editor to the ability to share player-made levels via PSN.

The landscape for indie developers has changed massively since then, but the values of creativity and gameplay remain. This is what Gravity Crash stood for then, and it's still as relevant today.

Yes, the team at JAW has been very busy with another game from a rather well-loved PlayStation franchise, [Register or Login to view links], but we found the time and talent to give Gravity Crash the update we really felt it deserved.

Sony Announces Gravity Crash Ultra is Coming Soon to PS Vita

69w ago - Just Add Water CEO Stewart Gilray announced today via Sony's blog that Gravity Crash Ultra is coming soon to PS Vita.

To quote: Back in 2009 we released Gravity Crash for PlayStation 3, a love letter to classic '80s shooter gaming.

The game was a labor of love for our small team, a team that wanted to produce a title with precision controls, high definition visuals and memorable sound but remain a modern-day interpretation of retro arcade gameplay.

If you're unfamiliar with the game, Gravity Crash is a side-scrolling space shooter featuring well over 40 levels, a host of enemy types and five major boss battles.

We here at Just Add Water are excited to reveal that we're now working on a native PS Vita version of Gravity Crash, which will retain that all important 60 frames a second speed with native PS Vita graphics running at the full 960 x 544 resolution, making the most of that stunning OLED screen - we're really excited about how vivid and rich Vita makes our game look.

Video: Total_Noob's CEF TN-B for Gravity Crash on PS Vita Arrives

111w ago - Following up on their previous announcement, today wololo has revealed that Total_Noob's CEF TN-B (port by Teck4 and Frostegater) is now available which makes use of the PS Vita Gravity Crash exploit for Firmware 1.81.

From his blog: Despite conspiracy theorists who would love to see us not deliver, here’s, as promised, Teck4′s port of Total_Noob’s eCFW to a new game exploit for the game Gravity Crash Portable.

As “expected”, the game Gravity Crash Portable was removed from all Sony PSN locales yesterday, following our announce 3 days ago of a vulnerability being discovered in that game, that would allow a malicious attacker to run Super Mario Bros on your Vita.

Hopefully, people who missed the Monster Hunter AND Urbanix AND Mad blocker alpha exploits had enough luck this time to catch this 4th game in time before it got pulled.

Teck4 ported TN’s CEF to the Gravity Crash game in JP, while Frostegater adapted this work to the EU and US versions....
 

Gravity Crash Portable Named Next Exploitable PSP Game for PS Vita

111w ago - Following up on the previous release and confirming the rumor, today wololo has officially named the next exploitable game that Teck4 is porting TN's eCFW to is indeed Gravity Crash Portable.

Below are the details from his blog, to quote: If you missed both the Ubanix and the Mad blocker alpha exploits, today might be your lucky day. Japanese Developer Teck4 has ported TN’s eCFW to a new game exploit. The game is, as I type this, still available on most stores.

A few weeks ago, developer frostegater announced he was working on a new game exploit in order to bring Total_Noob’s eCFW to even more Vita owner. Sadly, he discovered while working on international versions of the game, that porting his exploits to all locales would not be as easy as expected. Luckily for us, Teck4 also had his own exploit in the work, and was nice enough to share it with the world. Frostegater eventually contributed to this exploit as well, by porting it to the US and EU versions of the game.

I just released a fast small video to show the crash and freeze of the PlayStation Vita system using Xcode Execution. I also explain how to check every information coming from the CMA to PS Vita (debugger).

You need a Dev account Apple to have Xcode that you can use your MacOSX under a Development Environment

1- Launch Xcode (Spotlight -> Xcode)
2- Create a Empty Project (MacOSX)
3- Enter whatever name on the Product Name (For Example PSV)
4- A new window appear, change command-line builds use Debug than release
5- Click on BreakPoints
6- On the top menu of the Xcode, choose Product and make a new scheme and name your new scheme psv for example, press ok
