25w ago - Bolser Digital Director Richard Carter has shared a video announcing that the PS Vita application T@G launches today on PSN.

To quote: Good news everyone - our free PS Vita app t@g will finally be available to download later today.

T@g is an augmented reality social graffiti application. You can create your very own t@gs using different fonts, fills and effects and go out and place them in the real world using the camera and GPS on the PSVita. You can also overt@g other players, advance through the ranks opening up new fonts and fills, and earn respect and kudos by following other t@ggers.

It's been a while since we started developing t@g - well before the PS Vita was really publicly known. So much so that our initial devices didn't even resemble the final product - no touch screens, battery, 3G or GPS. As you can imagine for such an application that is so dependent on all these features it did cause us a few difficulties on the way!





One of the most memorable moments was field testing on the local cricket pitch with two 100 meter extension cables leading back to the office. The developer was stood in the middle of the field with a Vita in one hand and a laptop perched on his knee testing...

92w ago - Today SCEE's James Gallagher has unveiled news of upcoming Social Applications for PS Vita alongside new games and official specifications from Gamescom 2011.

To quote: PlayStation Vita's promise of pairing the cutting-edge game experiences PlayStation is famed for with the always connected, social experiences modern consumers are used to, all in a sleek portable device, became clearer at Gamescom.

At the SCEE press conference we learned that Facebook, Twitter, Skype and Foursquare applications will be available on Vita alongside such social features as:

Near: find out what your friends in the vicinity are playing now or what they were playing recently. Meet new players virtually, regardless of what games they are playing, simply by sharing their game information across different dimensions of time and distance.

Party: Enjoy voice chat or text chat not only during online gaming, but also when users are playing different games or using different applications such as the internet browser.

SCEE President and CEO Andrew House declared that "PlayStation is about games and PlayStation Vita is a breakthrough portable entertainment system that will thrill gamers."
