European PlayStation Store Update for August 11, 2010

207w ago - Following hot on the heels of the US PSN update, today SCEE PlayStation Store Manager Mike Kebby has announced this weeks additions to the European PSN update as follows:

Yesterday we released the first add-on content pack for Red Dead Redemption. Legends And Killers adds new multiplayer elements, such as additional characters and the new tomahawk weapon, and for those of you looking to add some fresh content to your online gunslinging, now's your chance.

There's a few titles released for your PSP this week too, and leading the charge is the first in the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series, so get prepared to finely hone those demon collection skills, in this renowned RPG.

The final piece of content I want to highlight is the demo for Mafia II. I managed to spend some time with the team at 2K last week and get my hands on the demo, and had a jolly old time.

I played the same demo you'll all be able to get your hands on today, so I won't say anything else in case I spoil it, but let me say this - you'll have a ten minute countdown of free-roam before you have to reach the mission checkpoint, so make the most of cruising round and seeing how much chaos you can cause

Okay, that's enough of me, now to the matter at hand... the full list. Enjoy!

209w ago - PlayStation Store Senior Manager Grace Chen has shared this weeks PSP and PSPgo digital comics store update today, as follows:

We've got a huge update this week for the PlayStation Store Digital Comics. First off, you can now buy a complete digital comic series or story arcs.

This is perfect for all of you comic readers who want to buy a full series rather than have to buy each issue individually. Plus when you purchase a comic bundle you'll get it at a lower price than you would if you bought each issue individually.

The full list of PlayStation Comic Store 'Bundles' is noted below.

New Release highlights:

We have two more free comics from [Register or Login to view links] this week. The first: Bottle of Awesome #1. Billy Butterman is a loser, a putz. High school is a total nightmare: all the cool guys pick on him, girls ignore him.

That is, until the day he encounters a mysterious hobo, who urges him into drink from a bottle of awesome. However, he warns Billy not to drink too much, for a person can become too awesome. Will Billy heed his words?

The second free comic introduces us to the world of Ex Machina which Publishers Weekly described as "...half X-Files, half West Wing and 100% genius". EX MACHINA...

209w ago - SCEE's PlayStation Store Manager Mike Kebby has posted up this weeks European PSN update today, as follows:

An old friend returns (for the first time on PlayStation since 1995); Earthworm Jim HD is a remake of the old classic - which I may add was hard as nails, I never actually completed it - and features all the old favourite characters and levels, but now comes with added HD shininess, additional levels and a multiplayer mode.

I for one am I very excited, and will be doing my best to actually complete it this time!

We have two additions to the PSone roster on the store; Pong and Rayman 2: The Great Escape. I know it's been quite a wait to get Rayman 2 onto the store, and we're very pleased to say that it's now available, so grab your copy and help Rayman defend his world against the pirate invasion!

As for Pong, you know what to expect and it needs no further explanation really, other than this version (originally released in 1999) comes with 3D graphics and power-ups.

That's not all for PS3 though, we have the Madden NFL 11 demo for instance as well as much more; I refer you to the full list below for the full details.

As for your PSP needs this week there are two Harry Potter games available, a demo for Worms: Battle Islands, and...

[Register or Login to view links]- We have issue 3 of Frank Miller's [Register or Login to view links], and more of the amazing DMZ series.

We also have two special one-shot crossover issues from the disturbed mind of Warren Ellis - Planetary/Authority: Ruling the World, where Ellis almost brings the two teams together to fight a giant octopus-like monster; and Planetary/JLA: Terra Occulta in which DC and Wildstorm universes clash in an alternate reality.

Finally, DC is offering another free comic from their Zuda imprint. The Night Owls #1 is a light hearted strip set in 1920's New York following a group of detectives who solve supernatural crimes.

[Register or Login to view links] brings us another splash of brains with the start of the five issue Marvel Zombies 2, plus we see more Black Panther and Astonishing Tales.
