20w ago - Following up on his previous modification, today PlayStation 3 developer Exofreak is back with a video demonstrating a new PS3 XMB Mod which makes your PS3 CFW (Custom Firmware) look like OFW (Official Firmware) below.
To quote: This new xmb mod will change your xmb to look like an OFW or Official Frimware's XMB. It will of course remove all DEX Mods like "install package files" and "app/home", but it will not remove their functions unlike OFW you can still install pkg files through homebrew apps.
The best part about it is, it is very easy to replace so you can change it with your modded files whenever you want.
Example, you have a friend over and want him to think you have a genuine gaming system then replace it with my files and it will look completly OFW! You can switch it back later!
To apply copy files from the coldboot folder to dev_blind > vsh > resource > (copy the files with the title as in the coldboot folder)...
42w ago - Guerrilla Games Senior Producer Steven Ter Heide has announced that Killzone: Shadow Fall is coming for PlayStation 4 / PS4 with a video trailer below!
To quote: Today we are happy we can finally show you what we have been working on.
It has been an amazing journey for us so far, being offered the opportunity to be a launch title for the new PlayStation, and the subsequent mild panic to figure out how to best handle all of that.
But being able to now share it with you is both a scary and proud moment. We are hoping you will like what we have created, and are happy to present you with the first glimpse of Killzone Shadow Fall.
The piece of live gameplay we presented at the PlayStation Meeting 2013 shows you a new world, a new situation and a new hero.
The game is set in a near future, thirty years after the events of Killzone 3. The world is a very different place; two rival factions known as the Helghast and the Vektans live side by side in a futuristic city, divided by a vast wall.
Tensions are high, and the cold war they are embroiled in is about to go hot. In the midst of this all stands a Shadow Marshal, you. The most special of the special forces, tasked with maintaining...
42w ago - Today Brian Fleming at Sucker Punch Productions has announced that InFamous: Second Son is coming for Sony's new PlayStation 4 / PS4 console alongside a video trailer below.
To quote: So what's new? I mean, what have you been up to? Cool. Us? Not much. Just a new character, new city, new powers, and all designed especially for the new PlayStation 4.
I hope you're excited - because we really are! Actually, for us it's probably one part excitement and one part pure terror, but that's just the way of things I guess...
But here we are at last to break the months of silence: All of us at Sucker Punch are very pleased to introduce you to Delsin Rowe, and our new title Second Son! Let's cut to the chase!
Delsin Rowe is the star of Second Son, and you probably know someone like him: A 24 year-old who is absolutely convinced he's destined for greatness; though so far that greatness has managed to elude him. He grew up just outside Seattle, where his great - if accidental - calling comes crashing into his life.
After rescuing occupants from a fiery bus wreck, he discovers that he suddenly has the ability to direct, manipulate and even transform into... Smoke. Could he have absorbed this power...
143w ago - Just over a week ago PlayStation 3 hacker Mathieulh confirmed finding a PS3 3.56 Exploit, and today drizzthacks tweeted part of an IRC chat log where Mathieulh stated the following regarding PS3 Firmware 3.60 running homebrew code, as follows:
"[03:15] while you are insulting me like morons, I already have code running on 3.60, and I am laughing, and guess what ? I am happy I stopped sharing, you can hate me for it, I don't care."
He followed up with the following Tweets: To those planning on building a 3.56+ pup for whatever reason, the files attributes changed, the group and user ids for the files as well. The new 3.56+ values for tarballs are the following: owner_id, “0000764″ group_id, “0000764″ owner, “tetsu” group, “tetsu” ustar, “ustar”
You can use fix_tar to use those new values. Use with caution. By comparison, those are the pre-3.56 values. owner_id, “0001752″ group_id, “0001274″ owner, “pup_tool” group, “psnes” ustar, “ustar”
